What does Russia actually get out of this horribly embarrassing war that isn't a massive insurgency and a united NATO? Natural gas it can't sell and a buffer state for a NATO invasion that never comes?
Strategic depth it can depend on in 20 years when its military is a fraction of its current size due to aging demographics. Russia doesn't know what Europe will be like in 20 years and isn't willing to bet on it remaining peaceful.

Looks like sanctions against India are on the table now.

Best case? West Ukraine forcibly disarmed, East Ukraine puppeted into friendly states which finally secures their Crimean base (there were disputes about water supplies from the mainland apparently), and Putin's Russia's pride intact. For all intents and purposes, a united NATO doesn't faze Ivan; they're already united in his eyes. Beyond that, who knows.

Something to ponder before the war picks up again

The US is actually trying to build up BRICS. What a time to be alive.

Italy, Germany and Hungary were really getting close to Russia and nagged the USA everytime they got told to stop doing it. NATO was more or less a meme before the invasion.

It was removed because the contract expired. The news blurbs explicitly state that it has nothing to do with the current conflict in Ukraine.
See, that sort of bullshit pisses me off. I'm not sure if i'm madder at myself, some guy that just bait posted me, or the world in general.

Either way, thanks for the heads up! goes to show though, how believable it was with all the other shit liek russian cats and russian (and belarus) cripples getting told to eat a dick when it comes to paralympics.

But more likely we're just going to see a reset of the decimal points at some point, eg. 1000000 old ruble = 1000 new ruble or something.
Pretty much what I was thinking.
nah, parade assumes a celebration march with a lot of pathos and false sense of military supremacy.
I think you are looking for "formation".
In case you haven't noticed, the Liberals are getting spanked in the polls. I don't think Ukraine is going to turn the dial on that.
Ha! - Polls run by the extreme-Left media?

Yeah but it's very likely Putin doesn't care for that. And that's all that matters. Reality takes a backseat to perception, unfortunately.
