These Russian parts of Ukraine only became Russian about 70 years ago.

If you take a look at ethnic maps you'll see that borders don't perfectly align with ethnic groups. The perfect example is how Hungary is basically surrounded with ethnic Hungarians outside their borders.

Aside from all that, this just proves Nick is an irrational pro Russia pro Putin shill. He's completely biased on this issue. The conflict in Ukraine is a little bit more complicated than Russia claiming Ukraine is fake. It has to do with Russian security, sort of like the Cuban missile crisis. But he wouldn't be smart enough to understand that.

Ukrainians have flat jaws. Clearly an ethnic group. It’s also a minor power stuck between the edge of the greatest one (NATO) and the centre of a great one (Moscow). Historically Russia has way more claim and similarity to Ukraine than Americans.
