Holy fuck former US Ambassador to NATO saying on NPR that NATO could enforce a no fly zone over Ukraine WITHOUT it causing a war with Russia

Our managerial class is so delusional and stupid

Give Ukraine weapons and sodomize Russia's economy fine, putting NATO and Russian planes in a giant aerial game of chicken is something else you fucking retards
The managerial class is full of bitchmade feminized faggots, who might be saying that shit to placate their retarded wives that have been indoctrinated to see Russia bad because CNN and MSNBC told them Putin is a "crybaby meany man" most likely that is picking on poor innocent retarded slavniggers.

Now when I think about it, this whole warmongering push by the Democrats is like a nagging housewife just nagging about some dumbshit and is asking for a bitchslap at some point down the road to shush.

I just noticed that all the news accounts I follow, who are more ore less blatantly pro-Ukrain, have gone radio silent all day.
May it mean that Russia is doing noticeably better and/or the La Resistance is fucking up?
Russia blew up Ukraine's psyop center other yesterday or the day before

I totally expect UN stomp their little foot down and try to pass a resolution condamning use of mercenaries. ... seriously, with assloads of conflicts around the world, even UN completely realize just how useless that condemnation would be.

If American aid money stops tomorrow for every single nation except of course OUR GREATEST ALLY as I am a good goy.

And the Russians decided to do a speech again tomorrow, nobody would walk out except the nations of the eternal Anglo.

This is like a gayer version of the Great Game without foreign exotic pussy or chads leading the push as far as the West goes.

It is a peculiar war for modern times. I never thought a fucking huge convoy would sit still for several days, out in the open, and it not get taken to pieces and with basic ham radio kit one could follow, and interrupt, the comms of a whole fucking super-power army. Wonder if the russian convoy outside Kiev will outlast the canadian truckers.
It does go to show that both sides are able to through bits of metal at each other and hopefully some bits hit legitimate targets, but both sides are as disorganised and lacking in capability as each other.
Given that the ukrops' air force is practically non-existent at the moment, they probably felt safe enough to just sit out in the open.

Russia blew up Ukraine's psyop center other yesterday or the day before
I always thought those accounts were doing it for free.

Reactions: The Quiet Eye
To be fair to him, I am quite convinced that Russia was indeed aiming for a quick win from Day 1 to 3. Maybe as late as Day 5.

Consider this:
- Russia's initial advance has been very rapid, very uncoordinated, driving towards specific objectives with not much by way of support as if they were expecting a quick win.
- Initial strikes were on military installations only, and seemed to be focused on knocking out the leadership.
- The ROE during the honeymoon period were very tight, and little or no artillery were employed. Probably for optics.
- The Russians were very quick to propose negotiations, as if expecting Zelensky to capitulate.
- Only 30% of the arrayed forces were deployed.

The shift towards general warfare is quite apparent now, as Moscow rolls in all the materiel they built up, shelling the stubborn urban centres that they do not surrender, and now employing a more methodical approach to tighten their grasp on the country.

The gloves are off, as they say, and we will see many lives lost ere the war ends.
The initial Russian offensive was focused on the south east and knocking out the Ukraine's air defense systems. You don't conquer a country unless you actually try and occupy it, and in the first few days Russia wasn't trying to do shit. Maybe they thought that a show of force would spark a mutiny in the Ukrainian army but I doubt they ever thought the Ukrainian government would simply fold given their allegiances.

Now we're seeing the actual campaign. Careful, methodical, pausing to allow supply lines to catch up with advancing columns, cutting deals with Ukrainian mayors and governors, surrounding and laying siege to the cities that resist.

We're all burger biased and believed this would be something like Iraq. A massive air campaign to destroy all infrastructure, military and civil, including media followed by a brutal thrust into the capital with a declaration of victory followed by years of guerrilla warfare before leaving in defeat. The Russians aren't playing that game. I doubt they'll want to occupy western Ukraine, they want the black seas ports and they definitely want the Russian speaking east. Think the Turkish invasion of Cyprus and eventual partition.

Ya'll have fun in the irradiated shithole that Earth is about to become, I'll be chilling on Kolob with God, Jesus, and my boi Joseph Smith.

You forgot Jesus's new son, Sonichu. She is very proud of him.

The biggest surprise to me from Hungary was seeing them throw its voice behind calls to immediately admit Ukraine to the EU under unspecified emergency powers. I expected Hungary to be the one stood there cock blocking their membership.

Orbán was propably strongarmed by German industry or just paid off by Israel.

For Moldova this situation is like a gypsy walking past two guys fighting and seeing that in the scuffle both of their wallets have fallen out on the ground.

Do you really expect them to act differently?

I expect Turkey and everyone else to jump on the Gibs Train.

give me a quick rundown on hungarian/ukrainian relations and attitudes
i know there is/was territorial dispute, do hungarians value this highly in current year or does nobody care? also is there history of ethnic conflict between magyars and ukies?

Depends on the political stance.
-Liberals are same as redditors. Stunning and brave!
-Commies will support glorious Russia. Death to Azov, work for Igor Comrade.
- Conservatives hate them both. Territory thief vs godless commie infidel.
- Nationalists hate them both, but especially Ukraine. For all its faults, Soviets nor Nazis never tried to liebensraum us.

Many are seething that our army is too weak to take on the Ukraine. This would be a good chance to settle the blood grudge.

-Relations have soured greatly recently. The same law that targeted the ruskies in east Ukraine also whipped us. And Zelensky has been very smug about it.
-However there is support for the hungarians living in Ukraine occupied territory.

Lizard people.

I'm a bit surprised Russia hasn't tried to take some of the Ukrainian airfields in the western portion of the country and turn those into FOBs in order to stop NATO from dumping weapons into the country since they control the skies now outside of drones, and I doubt Ukraine is keeping large garrisons there for obvious reasons. Granted I may be thinking about things from a US doctrine perspective which says it's perfectly fine to supply forces purely through air transport.

Also....these russian tanks and apc's come apart like they are made of metal sheet that has been zip-tied together. Fuck would i go to war in one of them. In Challenger you felt vulnerable enough and with the anti-tank weaponry that exists you pretty much are, very vulnerable, but these russian vehicles are next level rubbish.
Current generation anti-tank weaponry has always been extremely dangerous to current gen tanks, if the enemy is allowed to use it. So far, coalition forces in NATO have never really had to fight against anyone who could bring those sorts of threats to bear in significant numbers and in a tactically sound way.

There were rumours/reports of the VDV paradropping into Western Ukraine to seize airfields but I don't think that was ever confirmed.

As a few other posters noted, there has been a strange absence of Russian aircraft so far. (Plenty of helis, though).

theres only so many objectives your armies can pursue at a time
they probably have everybody in the central/western ukraine area busy working on the encirclement/siege of kiev, no capacities to launch even more operations now

“These are not the refugees we are used to… these people are Europeans,” Bulgarian Prime Minister Kiril Petkov told journalists earlier this week, of the Ukrainians. “These people are intelligent, they are educated people. … This is not the refugee wave we have been used to, people we were not sure about their identity, people with unclear pasts, who could have been even terrorists…”

“In other words,” he added, “there is not a single European country now which is afraid of the current wave of refugees.”

Syrian journalist Okba Mohammad says that statement “mixes racism and Islamophobia.”
-----------
Only slightly based. Except I'm pretty sure he never said the word terrorist. That excerpt was from Times of Israel, which has, no doubt, quoted from Aljazeera. I believe the last line means terrorist or something similar in Arabic.

To be fair, major companies in India are subcontractors to US companies. Not going to pl, but most tech companies have Indians do the grunt work because it’s cheaper. If the major tech companies start to bitch because they can’t renew their contracts, it could force the government’s hand.
Without revealing power level, cutting off Russia just cost a major company I deal with some fairly significant offices. They told us certain product lines we were expecting simply are not happening until Washington gets bored or Moscow hires Hunter Biden as a consultant. If they cut off India, too, they're fucked, and so are we. Since we have a mush-brained retard in the Oval Office who personally made millions off this slavic shithole, though, anything could happen.
