If I was Russian I’d be a lot more confident and willing to fight, knowing that the other side was being reinforced with hobbits, gender confused westerners, and stupid redditors chasing internet clout.

This whole thing feels like a redux of the Spanish Civil War, when leftists flooded in to fight and lose against Franco in the International Brigrades.
Modern leftists want a romantic, doomed cause they can swoon over. They want to be able to tell "war stories" about how brave and radical they were in their past. The pathetic difference is they don't want to actually fight during the war, they just want the romantic stories they can tell fellow revolutionaries.
These redditor assclowns would be perfectly happy to fly to the Poland border, get rejected, and fly back; that's sufficient radical street cred for them. (Of course it would be even better if some kind dupe would pay for the plane ticket, poor oppressed wagies can't afford vanity trips and HRT you know.)

As far as I understood when it comes to foreign soldiers, mercs, volunteers from other countries, that are not Ukrainian enlisted in Ukraine for the Ukraine army, do not get the geneva convention applied to them. Therefore I've heard a little while ago some Russian general has announced that any such 'troops' that surrender or otherwise get captured, will simply be executed by firing squad.
Just a little something that I honestly never thought of, and so I highly believe that none of the retards who have booked their ticket to Poland thought of too. They're going out there to die, no two ways around it.

I have over 18000 hours in Hearts of Iron, granted I was trying to elevate the third reich to its former glory but I believe this makes me qualified to help Ukraine. After all, I’ve learned from Hitler’s mistakes about Russia and have a cohesive stratagem for defence but most importantly rollback into Russian Territory.
