I'll say this on the matter, if only because Nina is the most vocal example of this that we've had in the larger companies. (And this isn't a dig directly at her, but more what encompassed my initial worry about her.)
My general problem with SJW-types in this landscape isn't their politics per se (even though I disagree with nearly all of their major political opinions), it's that it seems like the current trends with SJWs is to inject their personal politics into everything and remove as much escapism from recreation as possible. They strive to turn everything into a platform with which to magnify their personal politics with, and will condemn and scream about anything that prevents this. (See: The NFL being shit up with BLM and other stuff in the last few years.)
So of course, when you had someone like Nina, the worry was you get someone of what her persuasion was (which thankfully hasn't come to pass) and would begin to remove another bastion of just unplugging from the world.
I know I'm hyper sensitive to it because of the constant ongoing shit with video games, and how people don't seem to understand when people say "We don't want politics in video games", they mean personal politics and not the idea of exploring political themes. Best summed up by this image below:

And I think most people understand, agree with you, and are eating crow on worrying about Nina. I know I am. But the track record with 'Trusting SJWs entering my escapist hobby" has been so fucking poor, you have to excuse people immediately being worried.
