Counterpoint: they're drunken slavs, so regardless of it being pants on head retarded, they may just do it. Personally I don't think the order exists, BUT it would fit in with prior Russian/soviet actions. People get dumb and brutal during wars, even short ones.

I don’t think it’s that easy to assassinate an ex-KGB agent who is probably surrounded at all times by bodyguards and other glowies.

Worse than I though. They should really stop kvetching over this shit. It is war, if you don't want your ugly as shit memorial to maybe get some scratches from shrapnel don't build it in the open.

If there ever is an actual WW3 I expect spergouts when one army or another skirmishes near Aushwitz.

Yeah I'm not suggesting you could slip a scorpion into his bed or anything, but there must be a long chain of service. Even the guy who washes the dishes in the Kremlin kitchen might know the janitor who cleans the guard toilets and so on. I was under the impression that everyone in the upper echelons of every country was spying on everyone else and had people spying on them at all times
