The Ukrainians don't have much of an incentive for honesty at this point. They're going to lose and their senior leadership is probably going to end up against a wall when this is all over with. They'll do anything they can to manipulate the west into saving them, and the hysterical western media is fully onboard to help spread whatever stories they come up with.

I have no doubt the Russians are capable of epic levels of fuck ups and war crimes, but since the start of this I can count the number of verified truthful statements from the Ukrainian government on one hand.

In a lot of ways, this is the first "Social Media war."
"The Ghost of Kyiv shot down 6 Russian fightes!" - Made up
"The defenders of Snake Island gave a defiant final stand!" - false, and we had video proof of this a few days later
"The Russians attacked the Babi Yar memorial!" - A lie, an Israeli journalist visited the site first hand and said this was false

Every release was precisely tuned to appeal to and emotionally manipulate Western social media users, with the obvious intent of getting said users riled up to agitate for their countries' leaders to take action that would either help Ukraine or hurt Russia.

Keep seeing posts that there was shelling at the plant, but so far I've only seen videos of some parachute flares having been launched and then Russian vehicles lighting up the science center. Did I miss something?

The video I posted should be ignored. The light things slowly falling down were definitely flares; thought they were some kind of molotov-like bomb I've never heard of at first, or a piece of the facility burning and falling off. Flares were most likely used to direct more Russian convoys and troops to the nuclear facility since it's nighttime.

i know this isnt the point but theyre even misunderstanding the source material, the lotr books are written as in universe documentation of what happened from the pov of the hobbits supplemented with other accounts. in the actual reality of the story which sometimes seeps into the lotr books proper the "good guys" hunted down minorities for sport and slaughtered them with glee and fucked with other minorities and took their land and only gave them mercy after but not any land back or other such remedy iirc. i think even lefty youtubers like vaush and destiny were told to follow in lockstep the coordination and pressure and strategic shuffling of narratives seems to me to be a maiden run on the new method of information warfare.

you know what had me feeling really uneased? bidens phrasing of attacking russias place as a top energy provider over time, not how id phrase it in his position if i really just wanted them to back off of ukraine, not just reducing their imperialist capability, not reducing their war engines ability to fuel or fund itself to do harm, attacking its place as a superpower in energy relative to the rest of the world powers. Id track any attempts at major energy ventures or grabs from america or any allies in the future to see if it aligns with these economic attacks.

its really fascinating how this is being used as a way to reduce russias standing and grow that of its enemies. i really really think this might have been tailor curated by america and its allies to bleed russia dry over the years, i think theyve moved beyond holding ukraine as part of a block and have instead poisoned it to siphon resources from russia in its occupation with further coup attempts and funding probable when russia takes it.

you see UKRAINE UKRAINE UKRAINE because you (the west in general) are the intended target audience for pro ukraine propaganda, because ukraines propaganda goal is to create enough pro war sentiment in the west so that the west will intervene and save ukraine

you don't see russian propaganda because that isn't aimed at you. putin doesn't give a shit about what westerners think of him at this point. the pro russian propaganda is on russian tv, russian radio, on VK (russian facebook) and on other russian parts of the internet. and it is aimed at russian audiences, so it is in russian language.
