What culture has the worst cuisine?

British. I'm British myself and it's the worst. We can get a lot of really good food here, but it's all from former British colonies or Commonwealth countries, like Indian, Chinese, Malaysian, Kenyan, Caribbean. At this point it's become its own beast though, British-Indian food is nothing like what you'd actually find in India, for example, and it's pretty decent. You'll often find Indian restaurants will have different sections on their menu for Indian and British. Things like tikka masala, kedgeree or coronation chicken.
This is why "white people can't handle spicy food" is a myth. In the UK at least, there are actually two kinds of white people: the kind that can't handle spicy food, and the kind that will loudly ask WOSS DA 'OTTEST FING ON DA MENU and order that as a flex. I'd say at least 1/4 of the white population are the second kind.

Or we get French food, because we were occupied by the Normans, and they just wanted the same food they ate back home, so all the fancy upper-class food was French for ages. British food was just stews, slops, puddings and pies and stodgy poor people food.

I will say it's a lot like American food, in that the overall national cuisine is shit, but each of the different regions will have at least one local speciality that is pretty good.

I feel validated to see Ethiopian on here so much. Old bugmen friends used to insist on going to this horrible Ethiopian shithole dining shack and choking down such WONDERFUL ETHNIC CUISINE, SO GOOD DUDE, UH WOW MAN. Rank ass garbage, fucking up bread and meat stew somehow.

Worst food I ever had was French. They're up themselves like nobody's business, and they do make some nice stuff, but they also eat snails in garlic butter and think it's a good idea to eat sausages made entirely from donkey anuses.

I dont get the hate for english food. sure its mostly stew, but a basic Stew is far above everything some nations bring to the table.

Eastern European food is always Terrible. they cant even make basic stuff like stew right.
I don't know, I had some pretty decent food in Romania. It was very cabbage-heavy though, so I spent most nights sleeping with the window open. Let me tell you, november in transylvania is not a good time to sleep with the window open.

The reason English food gets hate is because most people don't know to cook and they all think "flavour" = "spicy". Thbey boil the vegetables to death, then chuck out the water instead of using it to make gravy, and meanwhile the meat has dried out because they're too retarded to based it and check of it's done.

Nobody, and I mean nobody, would say English food is bad if they've ever tried a well-prepared beer-boiled beef, grilled carrots and neeps, and yorkshire pud. Bit of horseraddish on the side, some fresh parsley and basil and lettuce, a stonking tankard of mead or a light ale, and you're all set.

Honestly, a lot of the stuff they eat all over SEA are horrendous to me.
Some examples that aren't just eaten in one country:

Balut, a fertilized egg that is eaten in the shell.
Centurty egg, those weird, fermented (? more like rotten) black eggs.
Durian, if you've never had it - just don't.
Chicken feet, exactly what it says.
Blood soup, fresh animal blood, or sometimes in chunks.
Stinky tofu, aka fermented tofu. Just why.
Shirako, whale sperm. Yep. You've heard that right.

I'm not even going into all the various meats and insects they also eat here or I'll be typing until tomorrow evening.

Edit: Bonus: Tong zi dan - virgin boy eggs.
Tong zi dan or Virgin Boy Eggs, are a traditional delicacy of Dongyang, China made by cooking eggs in urine collected from young boys. Urine is collected from school toilets or boys urinate directly into collection buckets set out by vendors. The eggs are soaked and boiled in the urine. The shells are cracked and cooked all day on low heat. Residents believe “the eggs decrease body heat, promote better blood circulation and just generally reinvigorate the body.” In 2008, Dongyang recognized the eggs as “local intangible cultural heritage.”

Idk about British Ethiopian but dude there is the best Ethiopian in twin cities, I go out of my way to get it when I visit, the meat is roasted so perfectly , the squishy sponges bread is better than any other I've had, I may never leave Lol so I'm inclined to say that American Ethiopian is chefs kiss (at least in this town) but British Ethiopian is prolly junk. (Also the Ethiopian lady visits Paris a lot , so maybe that's why, she's some kind of cultured Ethiopian so👌)

As much nationalism as I have for Wales as an americunt-mutt, their food, as well as the rest of Britain, is usually fucking disgusting. Some of the baked sweetie items are pretty good tho. My family describes Welsh (and English) cooking as "an overdone burnt steak with corners peeling up and then an attempt to reconstitute it with some salty greasy sauce." They even watched Gordon Ramsay's show KN in Britain and shat on the dishes at the restaurants Lol

Phuh in the states is amazing, so I refuse to believe there is bad Vietnamese food here at least. I knew a half viet Asian mutt who was Very racist against Hmong food (Hmong are all over SE Asia but many from Vietnam are in the states) and refused to associate with them because they are the "niggers of Asia." They use fatty shit cuts if meat and don't cook it long enough to make it edible in egg rolls imo, so the other Asians avoid Hmong food.

I have a theory that the shit diet of the Hmong contribute to their high cognitive decline when aging, there is a high number of dementia patients but their families won't put them in homes, yet you see them yelling in Hmong at shit that isn't there at the bus stop unattended, but little old Asian men and women are harmless otherwise.

Last observation: cultures that drink raw or use animal blood in their recipes (middle eastern especially) is fucking gross
Yeah I've had good ethiopian food in other countries, but in a months time I wasn't able to find a single good meal in ethiopia.

Breakfast, lunch, supper, western foods, ethiopian foods, city, country, not a single fucking good meal. Only inyarra with vaguely tasteless dishes.

I don't know what many of you consider "British" food (there's no such thing - learn to differentiate between English, Scots, Irish and Welsh, you ignorant fuckers), but sausages and mash, steak pies, pea and ham soup, cod and chips, a proper grilled plate; these are all delicious, traditional English meals.

Ethiopian

I keep seeing this but I didn't think they had any food

Can't believe nobody has brought up China.
Sure the shit we get in the civilized world is pretty good, but it's heavily westernized.

Real authentic Chinese food is gross and weird. Just walk into your local Asian market and see some of the weirdo shit they actually eat.

urrrrgh that reminds me of this godawful chink place near a condo I lived in back in 2015 that was absolutely the filthiest restaurant I have ever been in. Grime everywere. the menus were always sticky and faded and had dried food splattered all over them and it STUNK LIKE HOT BOILED STEAMY CAT MEAT and just being inside gave you the same sensory experience as would being super sick with something like strep throat or the flu, everything just felt sick and hot and humid and infected.

The pictures of the food on the wall behind the counter were positively ancient and faded nearly white from the sun and heat and time, and the actual food in the pictures looked like it came from the dumpster. Just imagine the worst you can and crank that up a few notches. I went in to check it out for the first time and remember making it about 8 feet in the door when everything hit me at once and I just froze, looked around slowly, and left.

I have not eaten a stick of chinese food since.

There was an Ethiopian restaurant in Austin that I always wanted to try but never got the chance to. Judging by the responses here, it seems I wasn't missing much.
Most nig nations have the same food. Rice, a lean protein, a type of bean, and pungant seasoning so they can stomach the same thing everyday. Some sort of slop they can eat with their mouths open. Jamaican or Afrikas, always the same.
How is Mexican any different then you wonder? They can actually season food right and use vegetables and prepare food beyond boiling. Love Mexican food.
I like Jamaican food when it isn't drowning in a sea of black eyed peas.

British have like two or three decent things and everything else is horrible.

Peruvian food doesn't get enough hate. For a country where one of the hottest peppers in the world is from, it's very bland. Bland and bad.
Yea there are a few places in S. America I would cringe hard on there choice of eating.

But the UK... DAMMNNNN... They are the only ones I know on the top of my head that can ruin a beautiful piece of meat by boiling it to death.

Anyone who thinks bong food is bad has never had well made shepherds/cottage pie, good cider, nice cheddar or wensleydale, tea with chocolate digestives, etc. All these things are cozy as hell
