This generally applies to commercial VPNs for private users. I don't know anyone who does business in China without only connecting to their home country's machines on a corporate VPN. Chinks will absolutely steal every bit of your IP given the slightest chance. They make gypsies look honorable.
My work actually recommends getting a throw-away/travelling notebook if you go over there for work because you really can't protest customs fucking with your shit.

On another note: VPN/Tor bridges over SSL are basically masquerading as website traffic (HTTPS). I can't tell you if this is perfect stealth but at least Tor bridges seem to be good enough for encryption-hostile countries.

The same people who said 20 years ago that it was wrong to discriminate against Muslims for 9/11 because it will just radicalize them
they were right
somehow think that starving Russians to death will magically make them want to overthrow Putin and kiss the ring of the people who are making their lives more difficult.
It didn't work for Pre GWOT Iraq and Iran and Cuba and North Korea and it won't work now lol.

sanctions, boycott, economic blockade, all that stuff is only really useful in the long run if you are willing to eventually fight the real military war as well to finish the job. if you don't do that then you will NOT achieve your goal of regime change. economic pressure alone does not topple governments.
It toppled the ussr just fine and that was both unintended and unexpected

GOD I LOVE FREEDOM AND DEMOCRACY!!! SO MUCH BETTER THAN THAT AUTHORITARIAN RUSSIA!!!
President Trump getting BTFO by Twitter and Facebook was the canary in the coal mine.

But folks in this rotting corpse of a polity and countries around the world didn't take the hint that they are next, if they step out of line and disobey the Democratic Party and Pentagon and whatever remains of the RINOs and mainstream neoliberal media and their tentacles around the world.

It reminds me of when India was trying to ban porn and some pajeet coomer did make a good case if they going after porn, soon other shit is next because porn is not easy to defend for normal people but it was a beachhead for further censorship.

He completly fucked the German energy mix (even before Angelas decision to drop out of nuclear energy) for Russian monies.
fun fact, it was actually HIS decision to drop out of nuclear energy.
when merkel first took power, she put those shutdown plans of his on hold for a while, but then when fukushima happened, in a classic womanly hysteria-based overreaction, she did a 180 on that and ordered the shutdown plans to be carried out again.

Spergposting, but I am mad:

So the company I work for just fired several thousand people, because they closed the office in Russia, and the company spokesperson had the balls to say "join me in giving our deepest thanks to these colleagues for their dedication and service" and "please continue to care for each other and consider how your colleagues might be affected." Well I am pretty fucking sure the 2000 ex-colleagues are pretty negatively affected, but at least they got our heartfelt thanks so it's okay. Also we, the not-fired employees, got a link to an emotional support program, thanks asshole I am sure we're the ones who need this right now.
Leave.

Again, you're missing the point of my post and bringing up something that happened in the early 20 century and comparing it to today.

Eastern europeans aren't western.

If you ask a Hungarian, you are as likely to get America as the most hated country as you would get Russia.

I doubt Ruskies feel better, since we are Nato...

But half of us memba the glorious dream of Komrade Union, and the other half remember that we were Axis.

I figure more people would see China trying to take Twain as a chance to settle a score. That's why I said they're a wild card, Idk how they respond, will they take the chance to mess with China and secure their waters as China has been fucking with them in that regard.

Think of it as Itlay switching sides during WW1 hoping that they get more clay from the peace treaties. Side with the west against China and get a lot of possible shit from it.
Don't get me wrong. In the event of an aggressive Chinese move against Taiwan, you can expect ASEAN countries, at a minimum start imposing sanctions and all that good shit.

I just don't think they'll contribute in a meaningful way otherwise, aside from serving as useful forward bases for any American retaliation. (In fact, doesn't the US still retain an airbase or three in the Philippines?) Even Vietnam, the former victim of Chinese aggression, doesn't seem likely to be able to contribute much.

Well its not a bad idea, but thats not their flag, the original flag looks like the flag of other hanseatic city states.

I didn't even have to click on the previous link to KNOW that the color "baby blue" was a part of the flag. But I didn't expect that the only two colors would be baby blue and white.

Reminds me of the time the US conquered Iraq and wanted to change their national flag to a baby blue theme, that was rejected.
I have been scantly checking in on this thread. What the absolute fuck is going with all these random Russian services being closed by corporations. This gives the same creepy vibe as when every single company became BLM activists simultaneously in 2020.

Did I miss something, or is this just typical corporate virtue signaling?
Black Rock and Vanguard outright own or have a huge stake in all of the corporations. All of them.

I saw that bald and bankrupt episode in Moldova and almost everyone he talked to missed the days of Soviet rule because of how bad the governments have been since the collapse.

Are we sure that toppled it over 6 decades or the fact communism is untenable over 6 decades?
Lol that's still economic pressure just self created that's like if these sanctions crippled russia and it fell and you said humph well that's cause they didn't diversify their economy
It help contribute slightly, but there were loads of other factors that were wayyyy more important.
I think it was more than slight especially since it's to the point the main successor state is still using ancient soviet hardware
