-already has an anti-war movement in his own country. He didn't have a justification like 9/11, and Ukrainians are not that different from Russians, so they can't just be dismissed as terrorist-loving pinkos.
He didn't have a justification like 9/11? By that you mean an emotive attack on his civilians, I guess? I beg to differ, soyim. They have had several incidents like that. The ongoing war in the Donbass has been very, very emotive to our Russian friends. Just because the atrocities there haven't been plastered all over our media it doesn't mean that they aren't ubiquitous in the Russian speaking world. People want redress for these injustices.

Russians have all seen the picture of Polina Sladkaya, the first child casualty of the Donbass rebellion. Killed by Ukie artillery by the way, the first of allegedly a hundred children to die in such a manner. Google (in my country at least) seems to be cleansed of results for her periodically, I have no idea why. If you google her at the time I am writing this you can find a commemorative tweet and a single image on google images related to her. The rest are just random women. She wasn't so hard to find a couple of years ago...

There is the famous video of the Azov regiment crucifying a civilian for aiding the separatists. it is very upsetting. A lot of people mistakenly call it fake but they are mixing it up with a different fake report of a 5 year old boy getting crucified. It is still easy to find as I am typing this, in this thread and even on reddit. The Azov boys are also famous for mass-rapes as well, which you can also find reports of quite easily. They have never been brought to justice.

The Odessa Massacre of 2014 is also a bit of a sore spot. Dozens of Russian counter-protesters (opposed to the Euromaidan movement) were chased into a building, trapped inside and burned alive. The Ukies filmed it all while singing and cheering.

Look, I'm not saying that war is good. I'm not saying that Ukrainian civilians should suffer. I'm saying that there are surely plenty of ethnic Russians feeling just as worked up about this as we were about 9/11.

I'm also saying rate this post informative or your mother will die in her sleep tonight.

It's not "simping". It's recognition that a large nuclear power has the ability to exercise its will without interference by the global hegemon.

You idiots who are saying it's not "right" or it's not "fair" or it's "evil" are living in a childish dream world.
In-country? Absolutely.
Outside the country? That's the same shit people criticize America for.
The idea you can side step morality by arguing that the opposition is worse is moronic. Just outright say that Russia wants to have Ukraine's land, rather than wrap it around a "real complex politics" argument.

we're at the mercy of tickets that I file and which never get read because all our service providers hate us
This is fucking aggravating and I salute you for your ability to avoid screaming at the assholes (by phone or in person) for being so deliberately shitty. I probably lack that patience.

This particular kind of tortious horseshit really bugs me in particular, having worked in my early years at a datacenter that prided itself on providing stellar service and keeping politics and feelings out of it because that was bad for business. Of course, that was also during the Clinton administration ... it's fucking unbelievable how much these companies get away with now and how eager they are to just say "fuck off" to paying customers en masse for holding the wrong views. It boggles my mind that "shut up and take my money!" no longer actually works reliably.

I called it "tortious" because in a sane and just world, this kind of coordinated "shut it down" garbage would be actionable (and you'd have some chance of actually winning). It's an academic argument at this point, of course. As much as a victory the whole Colorado "no homo" bakery debacle was for freedom of speech, that's what people always point to now when you dare complain about companies nosing their way into politics.

The people cheering this shit on won't even notice what's been taken away from them until they suddenly need it and find it's long gone. Sadly, I've tried to explain this to people in my life who know me well, respect my opinions, knowledge, experience and beliefs, trust me a great deal and have always heard me out even when they disagree. Friends, family, coworkers, acquaintances. My parents of all people are the only two I've convinced that something very dangerous is taking root. Everyone else I've ever discussed it with has handwaved it away at some point, telling me I'm exaggerating the problem, must be overlooking some important detail, or (in a few cases) straight up saying "well maybe it should be that way."

It's so frustrating. This crap is so much harder to purge once it's entrenched, and it's damn near all the way there already.

Huh. Well that's certainly one way to get a large number of highly skilled, bored and pissed off Russian hackers to suddenly focus exclusively on cracking the PS4/PS5 wide open. Since they're being collectively stuffed into the penalty box and disconnected from the rest of the world already, it's not like they'll have much else to do.

I guess the only pisser there is when they do inevitably break it open they won't exactly be in the mood to share the keys to the Sony kingdom with the world that locked them out in the first place.

Germany did not actually transition into a total war economy until 1942, due to Hitler's belief that Barbarossa would be a limited war, and all prior wars had bourne out his views. (Brits were mostly stuck on their island, and giving Italians the wedgie in North Africa, Americans were predictably distracted by the Pacific theatre, the USSR was in full retreat.) It would prove conclusive as bombing started the ramp up and the Krauts were unable to similarly ramp up their industry in response to the other powers mobilization, despite Speer's best efforts.

Donettes is part of Ukraine but please tell me how because they speak Russian they are totally different ethnic group
And they have a right to secede then the rest of the country

Are political threads always this autistic? Jesus.
The NATO v. Russia discussion has always been the most shill filled, autistic, asshurt dumpsterfire of all internet discussions. Screaming past each other while shit flinging propaganda and soyjack edits has always been the state of affairs, but this current conflict has poured jet fuel onto the fire. The funniest part is that this is probably the best place to get real discussion on the topic, other places like 4chan are even worse.

I see you've conveniently forgot to mention how the Ultra Nationalists are responsible for several atrocities and that they tried to keep WWIII going by kidnapping the Russian president and his daughter, who were no longer in full support of the group.

Also, the main villain in Modern Warfare 2 was General Shepherd, an American who wanted to be a glory hound and was willing to start WORLD WAR III to do so, cause as he said; "I lost 30,000 men in the blink of an eye. And the world just fuckin' watched."

Yes, this happened as a result of the Ultra Nationalists nuking said 30K men, but still; an American General was the main villain of the second game. There are also several Russians who literally save the lives of important characters and are clearly meant to be allies or repenting former enemies.

Also, despite Battlefield 2042's lore making very little sense if you take a hard look at it, because the lore, and the rest of the game, was clearly designed around the Specialists first, the game depicts US and Russia as the only two superpowers left on Earth. Due to climate change that ravaged Earth, the EU collapsed after Germany failed as a country, and China is not mentioned at all, which is a deliberate decision to not get the game banned in China, like what happened in BF4.

Some of the Russian involvements in the game include:

-Russian forces trying to look for some sort of lost convoy in Doha, Qatar, after the city somehow turned into the SAND LOL meme personified. (I don't know how it would be possible for desertification to reach points that all of Doha would be buried in sand)

-Russia illegally drilling oil in Antarctica, under a Russian shell company.

-Russia trying to get a lost submarine back from the Americans in India.

The lore makes it off as the Russians being a convenient scapegoat, even though the lore as a whole makes no sense. The game doesn't even have a single-player campaign, compared to past Battlefield games, to try to explain all of this.

So here at KiwiFarms, I think we should stay on mission, even in war we an army marches on it's stomach, and we still need the Milk of lolcows.

Enter a New epoch, the Armchair general.
-Lazerpig is a prime candidate.
-We need to ensure we clown on the Armchair aspect of the armchair general.
-Arguing with them about militry facts just makes us armchair generals, it is the behavior in the self proclaimed expertisie that makes them lolzworthy
Here’s a fun fact. Although America has the capability to find out if a nuclear missile is fired anywhere in the world, the Russians don’t.

They have the bombs though. Like a tweaker with a shotgun, in the dark with cops closing in.

Not the best scenario.

You know just as much as we do, I am afraid. There is no insider privy to the plans of either government in this thread, nor is there a source of reliable information. There are just us, armchair polytical analysts (formerly world-class virusologists).
Idk, we are a bunch of autistic people who speculate about other autistic people. I trust the farms more than I do CNN. We know the internet is full of lies.

I feel like a dumbass for thinking it was all going to be a simulation like Desert Storm. It still is kind of a simulation. I firmly believe that the western media is inflating Ukrainian victories and Russian losses. The Ghost of Kyiv is not real. No Il-76s full of Russian paratroopers were shot down. Teenagers and 3rd worlders are watching War Thunder and DCS clips billed as war footage on TikTok.
But it's a real war now. Both sides are suffering casualties. It's unclear how much of a black eye the Ukrainians are going to give Putin before they're forced to capitulate. There's a non-zero chance that NATO gets dragged in and it goes nuclear. Gas could hit $5/gallon, and crude will push $200/barrel before US shale production can bring prices back down.

Shit is crazy and nobody is in control.

Funny picture is funny, guys.

Relax - the context is ultimately very inconsequential.

Internet forum posts are serious fucking business! The fate of the world depends on Reddit updoots and KF stickers! Stop shitposting and DO SOMETHING TO HELP THE PEOPLE like making serious butthurt posts or giving expert amateur general analysis!

A look inside a refugee transition center on the Ukrainian border:
Those poor people aren't even on their phones...
