Ukraine was left with a tough decision, but not an impossible one.

They could have amputated and ceded the disputed Crimean lands to Russia and joined NATO, ensuring they would lose no further. Like an amputation of the gangrenous flesh.

Or, they could have started sucking up to Russia, in hopes of a favorable relationship.

They chose neither option, and this was the outcome. Was Russia morally correct for invading? No, but the Ukraine knew the position they were in, and refused to make the tough decision that would have ensured the safety and independence of their country. They couldn't do so through their own military might, so it is what it is.

I don't feel happy for the Russians, and I feel sorry for the Ukrainians going through this, but what else did they think was going to happen? It was always just a matter of when, not if.
They didn't choose, globoZio/AIPAC chose for them, because Russia is one of the only countries that is actively preventing them from doing to Iran what they did to Iraq.

These guys just are not having a good war. Did one of them fuck putins wife or some shit and they're getting stuck with the shit jobs because of it?
I'm having a harder and harder time believing these guys aren't just being deliberately dropped to their deaths, seeing them all gored like that in the middle of that wasteland. really makes me think of that line from The Pacific's mortar practice:

"WHAT HAPPENED, PUTIN? DID BORIS FUCK YOUR WIFE?! DID SERGEI NOT GIVE YOU A GOOD ENOUGH BJ, HUH?! YOU LANDED OUTSIDE THE CORRECTION!!"

Has the VDV actually achieved something in this war? All I heard were just failures upon failures
They might have captured the Kyiv airport at the start of the war, but even then we don't know if they actually did or that they got wiped out and the armor support that was coming to them arrived a few hours after they got wiped out captured it.

I just don't see anything that would make this happen. If anything, I'd argue external pressure is likely to make the west double-down on its increasing authoritarianism.

They might but it would hasten their downfall. When the Germans invaded in 1941 it pretty much put a halt to Stalin's purges and as the war got more bleak the more power and trust he bestowed to his generals. The reverse is also true for Hitler. When it was clear there was Warsaw vs NATO block the Soviets did their best to try "to keep up" with the NATO and the western governments generally tried to keep stupid shit and corruption to a minimum.

So yea they could double down, but considering what they are doing makes each individual country weaker they would just be handing over more power to the eastern coalition.

Being used as experiments with the intention of imitating NATO strategy and tactics.

The Russians are slowly coming to the realization that they don't have the necessary tech or experience to do this so they're now starting to use their old and battle tested soviet tactics and strategy.

there is more than one, they wanted the one that could land heavy transports, the fight for it went on from the first day.

Apparently some VDV got dropped off near Mykolaiv. The VDV continue their failure streak.
The US military is currently in its most demoralized state not seen since the first two years of the Civil War.

And these lot are fucking up harder lol.

The question for the Russians are that are they learning from these fuckups.

Or this whole thing is another psyop.

I'm actually wondering the the US and other countries might seriously look at Air assault/Airborne forces the way we looked at Battleships post WW2 after this clownshow. I'm really looking forward to see if the expected Russian Naval infantry can do something or if they are gonna end up dying in droves too.

Ukies are doing okay shooting down RF craft, which should be the case, given how much of that gear they have been given. Stingers were a great equaliser in Afghanistan.

Massed artillery, frontal assaults with tanks in front, Sabatouers behind enemy lines.....

Maneuvers second, artillery first.

That is the only way Russia knows how to fight because Russia still doesn't understand supply chains behind a spearhead.
