Phill went to Vegas but didn't go to the strip .....that's such a phill thing to do why the fuck would you go to Vegas and not go to the strip? unless he's just bullshitting like usual

Just an autistic theory I've had since he said this on a Flight Simulator stream, but I think its because he has a severe gambling problem, as this is a common sentence among gambling addicts who go to Vegas. They go there expecting to have a fun vacation, and end up losing their savings, kid's college fund, etc, and just stay awake for days (no windows in casinos) while time flashes by, and then its time to go home. Definitely not in the mood to see the sites, or go out on the town.

Evo started holding tournaments ~2006 so he might have went on that pretext, but if you've ever heard a Phil story about tournaments, its usually participate day 1, get owned/maligned, hide in room, make up an elaborate excuse about injuries/cheating/its-beneath-me, before finally going home to mom/wife. I could see him turning to gambling after a bad run, or money matches leading to other forms of gambling, but CT also has big casinos on the rez which he talks about going to so he could have been going pretty often before LV. Gambling addiction being at the root of a lot of Phil's issues would make a lot of sense, and it fits his personality, entitled, delusional about being speshul, extreme laziness. I could easily see him day dreaming about big winnings.

Without even accounting for the gacha addiction, he's alluded to his problems with gambling before, strongly warning against it, some other stuff I think, I'll have to check pigpiggo. Its come out in casino-like minigames on stream before, he gets so hyped in contrast to his normal playthroughs, you could mistake him for someone who actually enjoys playing videogames. During his Red Dead 2 playthrough he knew absolutely every ridiculous poker term and Phil is not known as an expert on many topics, and he kept going all in arbitrarily trying to win big and getting overly emotional. Also, he blew through an insane amount of money in minutes/hours in SF money matches, desperately chasing his losses, you could see it getting away from him in real time.

I think Phil has a pretty bad gambling addiction he doesn't openly talk about, and I think its probably how he justifies whaling on gacha, since its less real (in his mind) and probably less stressful. The sad/retarded thing is, at this point he's losing just as much money with 0 recuperation of funds. It's just a theory, though.

There's an assload more on pigpiggo. Phil talks about gambling constantly, uses it as a metaphor, bitches about gacha more than anyone else on the planet, knows a shitload about poker and blackjack, warns people off of gambling with either a serious tone or (seemingly) traumatized humor. And if gambling exists in a game, he will find it and pretty much wear out its playability. I've never seen a streamer focus so much on gambling minigames. Also I'm sure pigpiggo missed some as he pronounces it "GAMBUHHLING" b/c of his jowls.

EDIT: Also just realized how well Phil would fit in at a shitty off-strip casino at 3am. Now fully convinced, and I think this is his future, gambling away his SSI check until he dies of gout.

I found these a while back going through his stuff but haven't been able to find them for months, wondering if he removed this series for some reason. He had travelled somewhere at a tournament, needed a guy to come fix his room's internet, got a huge suite of course as he always does, and did videos on the suite's couch talking about why he lost that day and why he'd be playing Dragon Age the rest of the time he was there.

The only thing Phil is good at finding are ways to be a bigger asshole and reasons to bitch about something, so this would not make him happier, just align with his current trajectory.

What gets me is that the pigroach is clearly like this today because of anger over, among other things, paying consequences for being a piece of shit, but there doesn't seem to be any past scenario where he was happy either, despite a lack of things like being known as The Guy and having a crippling addiction to a shitty mobile game. It's like he's incapable of anything positive lasting more than a fleeting moment, while anything negative sticks to his brain for life.

His insecurity is easily the second most powerful force in his psyche, beaten only by his fear, because if insecurity was winning that fight, he would be more motivated to try. At anything. It's not laziness that overwhelms insecurity, it's definitely fear, because like I've said, the more he puts himself out there and takes risks, the harder he can fall if it doesn't work. And right now especially is the time to be doing exactly that, taking that risk, but he won't, because he's afraid to. It surpasses his insecurity over being known as The Guy, keeps him from going far enough to try washing away that stain. We know how much he hates being defined by his fuck-ups, he obsesses over the ridicule, so he feels plenty motivated, it just isn't enough, next to his fear of making a genuine concerted effort and having it blow up in his face.

Of course, it would help if he also wasn't so stupid as to think he had anywhere to really fall to, even with taking risks. He does not grasp how bad things actually are for him, he only knows they suck because they're not 100% to his liking, having no capacity for further comprehension. He can really only rise, but doesn't see things that way, because he's too childishly focused on the tips being as high as possible six days a week. And would be even without a crippling gacha habit, for that habit is not the reason the vest streak happened, said streak surely activating his short-sighted immaturity no matter what all those tips were being wasted on.

So he can see himself sliding back further, based on the tips shrinking, despite anything else going on, and any inkling of that is always going to stop him from persevering, and fuck himself out of the benefits of not obsessing over tips. Like the fucking retard that he is.

This mentality right here is the main reason Phil is so unpopular. The viewers pay his salary so if he wants more money he should focus on doing the things that entertain them.
