This is actually something that confuses me as well. Maybe its just a bluff? I don't know, too much fog of war in this warI'm not a military strategist, but it seems like announcing such a thing on global news networks where Russians can see it is a bit foolish isn't it? Couldn't these jets be shot down as they cross the Poland/Ukraine border into a warzone where large numbers of Russian military forces are operating (including surface to air missile systems)? Surely the Russians can at least see them on radar since they aren't hidden. Even if they do fly back into Ukraine piloted by Ukrainians, they have to land, fuel, and arm themselves at stationary airfields that can be easily pinpointed don't they? Perhaps I'm just ignorant about how little force Russia can project in the combat space, but something just seems off about this.
Huh, reminds me of WWIWhen your entire logistics doctrine depends on easy access to rail and your tanks run out of gas because they're too far away from a railhead.
This reminds me of a twitter thread where someone accuses Durov and Telegram for colluding with the Russian. Let me find that thread again, remind me later if I forgotI couldn't imagine how hard it is to deal with bad OPSEC in the modern age. Anything you ship and some asshole has a phone somewhere along the rail lines to record it. Your own troops could be sending texts to the enemy and vice versa. Most of your gulags are already on google maps and every speech and appearance you make is recorded for all time.
Good God, those dead civilians....Time to dump some good (or disgusting) shit on your faces. Ppbbbbttttt....
