I'm not a military strategist, but it seems like announcing such a thing on global news networks where Russians can see it is a bit foolish isn't it? Couldn't these jets be shot down as they cross the Poland/Ukraine border into a warzone where large numbers of Russian military forces are operating (including surface to air missile systems)? Surely the Russians can at least see them on radar since they aren't hidden. Even if they do fly back into Ukraine piloted by Ukrainians, they have to land, fuel, and arm themselves at stationary airfields that can be easily pinpointed don't they? Perhaps I'm just ignorant about how little force Russia can project in the combat space, but something just seems off about this.
This is actually something that confuses me as well. Maybe its just a bluff? I don't know, too much fog of war in this war
When your entire logistics doctrine depends on easy access to rail and your tanks run out of gas because they're too far away from a railhead.
Huh, reminds me of WWI
I couldn't imagine how hard it is to deal with bad OPSEC in the modern age. Anything you ship and some asshole has a phone somewhere along the rail lines to record it. Your own troops could be sending texts to the enemy and vice versa. Most of your gulags are already on google maps and every speech and appearance you make is recorded for all time.
This reminds me of a twitter thread where someone accuses Durov and Telegram for colluding with the Russian. Let me find that thread again, remind me later if I forgot
Time to dump some good (or disgusting) shit on your faces. Ppbbbbttttt....

Alright, the rest of the videos are yucky. Apologies.

Good God, those dead civilians....

That has become a major headscratcher to me in recent years. Why not just expel them and save yourself the trouble?

"Don't wanna be part of our country? Adios, chumps. Don't ask for any gibs."
That gives people the impression that they are able to govern themselves and lead their own lives, which is threatening to The Powers That B

Should we just split the thread into "Putin's Invasion of Ukraine" and "Russian Special Military Operation in Ukraine" with only pro/anti Russian takes allowed in either? Or just let this go as is?

If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

because that's called ethnic cleansing and can cause other nations to go to war with you to stop it. if ukraine had tried to mass expel the russians from donbass, russia would have stepped in much earlier already.

/k/ is very anti-russian, at least to the extent where they are vehemently laughing at their failures, they expected a lot more from a military powerhouse.
/k/ expected Russians to be like a more brutal America and is filled with neverserveds who just enjoy the resulting memes. The VDV stuff they've latched onto is funny but in the few times I've checked they are disappointing when it comes to keeping up with the situation.
Unfunny anons try to turn any discussion of it into the same memes to the point I wonder if it's intentional but then I think "why would anyone give a fuck about /k/ when /pol/ is the one to slide?"

nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!

Edit:
Also, this reminds me. The US once sent a volunteer squadron to China during WW2, right? The Flying Tigers. So why they couldn't do the same here now? This is a genuine question by the
The cost of planes. Even adjusted for inflation, fighters used to be insanely cheaper. Think sub million dollars in modern currency. There were also way more fighter pilots then.

Not that, I mean let those separatist regions break off from Ukraine. The only reason you'd keep a hostile region around is because you want power over them.

i didnt know russia was getting in on the femboy department, its just over for ukraine they have flexible femboys.

why would you expect /k/ to keep on the war instead of laughing at people parachuting to be shot in the air? itd be like if chris chan was president of russia and expecting kf to give a single fuck of anything not pertaining to chris and his effects on russia or ukraine.

iirc russia used the treatment of minorities to finance and support groups for separation so thatd basically be telling russia they could keep doing that forever until they reclaim the iron curtain.

The "Green light" thing isn't about sending active fighters to Ukraine, it's about offloading Poland's old soviet era planes to Ukraine.
Poland is going to dump their old MIG's on to Ukraine and the US tax payer is going to give Poland F-16 gibs
Ukraine is flooded with MANPADS that supposedly can take down these older MIGs
I predict lots of Ukrainian's shot down by "saboteurs" soon.

There was a time where you could get good pics, autistic speculation, and good gear lists without it devolving into what it has when I've checked. I stopped going to /k/ years ago but checked in for this happening and was disappointed. Maybe I'm old.

It's just like the rest of the Internet, full of fucking retards. Someone needs to invent some kind of forum software that is so difficult, fucked up, and impossible to use that only smart people can manage it.
