There's also the problem with Individual Replacement as well, veteran casualties being replaced by green conscript and soldiers. I think this is why Ukraine is trying to replenish their ranks with mercenaries and volunteers, to act as a stopgap while their newly trained soldiers and milita gain experiences in combat

I would assume western economists know what they are doing with these sanctions. Some people act like Russia is the only place on the planet oil exists in, In any case the Russians can fulfill their dream of a communist state now with these sanctions in place. I agree with the stance of "I'm neutral both sides are bad" but if that is your position surely that means you support Ukraine?
Hating both governments and the general political situation that precipitated the conflict is reasonable but the bottom line is that Russia invaded them and are putting innocent civilians in danger. I support Ukraine in the sense that I think it's in their best interest to come to terms with Russia as quickly as possible to minimise the amount of death and destruction.
