Now they are claiming to open up a 3rd time for Humanitarian corridors the last two failed, Part of me thinks the Ukrainians are saying fuck this and just blowing shit up because the gettings are good.
 
I think that the Russia + Belarus + Ukraine combo was the brief "Union of Sovereign States", which was Gorby's attempt to create a "New Coke" version of the Soviet Union.
The Commonweakth of Independent Statee still exists as an inter governmental body for post Soviet states, now a bit shadowy.
 
How long does it take to shut down safely a nuclear power plant I wonder?
Not a nuclear engineer, but if what I remember from my school course in physics is correct, not long at all. Graphite rods go in, fission reaction dies down. The problem is, you are left with a dead husk of a power station afterwards: restarting a nuclear power plant after a complete shutdown is an expensive, slow and arduous process.
