Current Ukrainian Defense Status: 3.6 roentgen, could be worse, could be better.

Russia continues to advance. Definitive signs in the north and east of classically Russian Deep Battle Operations. Pin, encircle, and destroy later at leisure the enemies which get left in those pockets. Kharkiv continues to fight, and seems to be a city the Russians want to batter into surrender sooner rather than later. Sumy city appears to be being bypassed.

The M-06 Highway into Kiev seems to be fully blocked off by Russian forces now as well, and it was the most direct route to the city from the west and a major logistics line.

To the southeast, Mariupol continues to fight. It is in the process of being encircled however.

Further to the west, the surrender of Kherson has allowed the Russians to establish a very strong bridgehead across the Dnieper river. The Russians have used this to move deeply into the Mykolaiv Oblast.

Interestingly, the Russians seem to be completely avoiding moving into Galicia/Western Ukraine.

if mexico or canada would suddenly start pushing for joining the warsaw pact and getting nukes, what would you expect the USA to do? they'd do anything that's not officially labeled a war to protect their sovereignty and local interest. otherwise you'd have to label NATO encroaching on russia economically and geographically some form of war too.

And if they (meaning Mexico - Canada is an absurd example) joined a pro Russian alliance, that's actually fine with me. Wall gets built immediately. Russia has to subsidize and squander resources on one of the few countries that are as filthy, depressing and disgusting as they are. It'd be like throwing money down a well.

While I liked them for their coverage of the Syrian war, that site has not been so good IMO in its Ukraine coverage. Their maps are always slightly out of date. They tend to be a collection point for certain information on the conflict and can be useful for that. But it could be done a whole lot better.

It's been like 4 days, Big 40 mile convoy has stayed put with some drone strikes on it nothing is moving, the maps that come on the Russian side say Kyiv is practically surrounded, why is there not military action? I would at least expect to see some bombings on the outskirts of the city where there are sandbags and trenches.
