Actually that was Brad Gellman, not Odenkirk that orchestrated that.

Gellman was one of those people who tried to cash in on Odenkirk via Tim and Eric opening live action crap onto Adult Swim but outside of of a supporting role on Eaglehart. all of Gellman's pilots AS financed flopped and it got so bad that not only did Gellman get told point blank "stop sending us your show pitches, they all fucking suck" but Gellman started having his wife pitch his ideas under her own name and starting the SJW pressure campaign demanding they start greenlighting, regardless of the quality, shows "run by women and people of color" in order to get his shows, fronted by his wife, on the air.

Gellman was livid that Sam Hyde got a show on Adult Swim and found two allies in Eric Andre (who's AS show had horrible ratings/buzz and was terrified that his show might get canceled in favor of World Peace) and Tim fucking Heidecker.

Tim had by this point, was operating as a solo act and now having to pay out pocket via the budget given to him by Adult Swim, to get his "Hollywood friends" to hang out with him and appear in his shows, after Odenkirk abandoned him. You see, once Odenkirk finally "got his big break" on Breaking Bad, Odenkirk basically severed all ties with Tim and Eric since he was now a big shot as opposed to someone bitter and resentful of his failed career on the fringes using Tim and Eric as a Ms Haversham-esque revenge plot on society.

To finance World Peace, Adult Swim EXPLICITLY slashed the bloated budget of Tim's then current show; this effectively meant he couldn't afford his Hollywood friend to appear on his show anymore.

Tim and Eric Andre agreed to help spearhead Gellman's scheme to get World Peace canceled: Eric played "good cop" and constantly brought up accusations, in concern troll fashion, that World Peace was run by racists. Meanwhile Tim played "bad cop" and went on a rabid dog offensive smearing the show and the cast, going full on psycho mode screeching and screaming at the top of his lungs that "Adult Swim was running a show produced by Nazis".

In the end, World Peace got canceled and Gellman got his way with couple of added bonus. By having Tim lead the attack for him, Tim got the lion share of the blame, which led to his show being canceled and Tim having to beg Eric to come out of retirement in order to get one last show greenlit by Adult Swim (Beef House) which barely last a single season. So Tim ultimately let his own hate boner for Sam and company blind him to the fact that he was the patsy of Gellman and Gellman ended up getting away with not only taking down World Peace but also doing catastrophic damage to Tim as Adult Swim never forgave him for his attacks on the company. Similarly, Eric Andre's show was also canceled and Andre forced out as well, as far as Andre inadvertedly getting canceled even with World Peace getting the axe.
I have to ask do you know if anything about that chick richard lowtax got with "logan" she was suppose to have interned on some tim/eric thing.

I think I have consistently read that the break point for gasoline is 5 dollars a gallon adjusted for inflation for median wage earners and below (30,000 a year or less). At that point, maintaining an automobile and commuting to work no longer makes financial sense for close to half the country. We're already there for a lot of the country.

The millionaires and billionaires can't even tell people to trade in their gas guzzler, high maintenance, high insurance cost automobiles for cheaper cars that can lower insurance costs and be more reliable and be more gas efficient. New and used automobile prices hit all time highs in America over a year ago and are now shattering records. Maybe that's by design, price the plebs out of having cars. Many people don't want plebs having cars and hate American car usage and car culture. I guess the only thing they can do is blubber about saving the planet and pitch green cars and public transport.

Edit: This made me think of another Obama administration chestnut: Cash for clunkers. The American automobile fleet is on average over 12 years old now. Think they'll spin all the hits?
outside of the fact that you underestimated the median wage by about half, you also forget the fact that the rich are either aloof or evil and will in fact tell people to just go out and buy a grenner car

Theres a reason environmentalists are called watermelons. Its all about control. The narrative is whatever has a solution that hands more control to the governing authority.

Green on the outside, red in the inside.
I'm more concerned that their platform is focused on destroying the quality of life in white majority western nations while giving a pass to shitty environmental practices in the Global South and China.

Oh boy, just saw premium gas at 6.09 in California, screw me silly and call me Sally. Are we seriously going for a repeat of the 70s?
fuck no, back in the 70s jobs were still plentiful enough that you could afford that shit. same with rent. Richard Ramirez was able to afford a car, gas, an apartment, and daily trips to the arcade and record store just from entry level hospitality jobs.
It's also terrifying to the Democrats. Hispanics, regardless of origin, have always been a group that integrates very well... when they do integrate.

The thing is, over the last 3-4 decades all the open palms to help ease them in or convince them to do so have slowly closed. And thus, they have slowed down their integration to a crawl.

So why does the idea of then integrating terrify the Democrats?

Integrated Hispanics -overwhelmingly- vote Republican.

What this Americano station sets up is something utterly lacking in 4 decades and at least two entire generations. An open hand to integration.
you have puto ricans that have been here since Roosevelt won their country in the war, and they still never bothered learning english, like our soviet friends realized you can only force integration by breaking up the communes, a mexican surrounded by his own people, language, and culture can go his whole life without integrating. a jap who has to learn to either speak english or starve suddenly becomes very americanized.
thats not me, but i maybe ride the monorail everytime im near Wuppertal. its fun and i like it.
I know that place! That monorail really put Wuppertal on the map!
You'd still need to deal with a lot of 5th Amendment eminent domain cases when developing a monorail, so yeah not going to happen. the most likely scenario would be vast metro networks connected by intercity rail lines.
What if i gave you my pen knife would that change your opinion you stupid fat police officer?
By all accounts the secret service were the last place he had to worry about leaks. They're generally less prone to leaks in any case, but they were particularly loyal to Trump for some reason. Probably because he treated them like people instead of props.
I swear to god people saying that makes me MATI. where did all that loyalty from the SS get trump? the SS hated obama and the clintons but they never allowed the sort of bullshit that plagued trump. i hope Biden forces them all to suck his cock for how fucking useless and retarded those sacks of shit are. Who gives a fuck about their opinions, where the fuck were they when the rest of the government was fucking him in the ass. I hope each one has their families executed.
Really want a puzzle piece sticker for this
exactly, T&E were basically to modern comedy what National Lampoon was to 1980s/1990s comedy. it was the main comedic inspiration for basically every youtuber since the site started, everyone under 40 with a good sense of humor loved it.
So Odenkirk is the reason why MDE World Peace got cancelled. Wow.

The only good thing Tim and Eric have done is bring The Room to the masses by having Adult Swim show it on April Fools Day.
I think Eric Andre had way more pull overall. as bad as Tim is, its not like he's got lots of famous friends overall, he pretty much does all his stuff on his own. plus the jew factor and his trump sperging really puts it over the top.

This is a monkey's paw in the making. Because the USA's drilling/fracking/refining capability is stifled due to the Biden admin being a bunch of ecological pollyannas, it is going to make the price spike a lot higher for the foreseeable future. The only way this would have been the right decision is if we were still energy-independent, like we were under the Trump administration.

Alright, I’m going to power level here a bit. I spent much of my early career in upstream oil and gas, mostly on offshore production rigs but I spent a fair amount of time on drilling rigs (both on and offshore).

I was on the technical end of things (I’m an Electrical Engineer) but I picked up a couple things about how the business works.

I heard Psaki going on yesterday about how there are 9,000 unused drilling leases currently out there and that we should be blaming big oil. This is a bit of disingenuous argument.

For starters, just because the Feds have issued a drilling company a lease doesn’t mean that there is oil beneath the surface. If there’s no oil there’s no point in punching a hole there.

Secondly, even if there is oil and you do have federal permission to get it, you still have to get state and local permission. It’s a lot easier to get that permission in Odessa Texas than it is on Signal Hill in California.

Thirdly, you have to have the rigs to actually punch the hole. Right now, the nations rig count is roughly half of what it was in 2019. Part of that is due to the bottom falling out of the oil market during Covid. The other part is that this administration is openly hostile to oil and gas.

The rigs didn’t disappear, but instead are in stack. You can’t just grab them and put them back into service…. They need to be gone through and recommissioned (this often requires new components that are difficult to obtain given our current supply chain crisis). Plus they need to be crewed (which requires onboarding and training that crew).

All of this is doable but none of it is cheap. The company has to make the decision whether or not it is worth it knowing that the administration will slide a knife between their ribs at the earliest opportunity. After all, they’ve literally appointed people who have stated that it is in the world’s best interest if the majority of oil companies go out of business.

Even if we had started the process of bringing our domestic production back online at the very first signs of Russian aggression, we’d still be behind the 8-ball, but we’d be in far better shape than we are now.

Under normal circumstances, it takes a several months to go through this process (that’s assuming the rig is still in decent shape which presumably it should be as they’ve only been stacked for a couple years) but the supply chain and getting parts is going to be difficult. (For example: PLC cards that are normally off the shelf have months long lead times and are being sold at a premium).

Unfortunately, in the short term, I don’t see an option except to buy oil from people who want to see us dead because we don’t currently have the domestic production capacity we had in 2019. That being said, if we’re still depending on Iran as heavily in 4 months, then that’s just more shortsightedness from an already shortsighted administration (as I said, we should’ve started this process months ago).
