Thus far I've been fairly impressed with Ukranian propaganda efforts. Undoubtedly it is being amplified by Western sources
It's all Western sources. The Houthis or Assad or Canadian truckers could hire the greatest propaganda geniuses in the world and still get zero traction in Western media, because those aren't narratives they want to push.

I think the messaging from Ukraine has been about what you'd expect from a poor Eastern Euro country in 2022, slightly elevated by the Z-man. They're social media aware and know how to push the sympathy button. As a professional entertainer Zelensky is much more natural in front of the cameras than a scowling oligarch like Poroshenko would be. Otoh they've been talking a lot of mad shit and an MSM that wasn't pulling for them would be FACT CHECKING (:smug:) their every word.

But it's CNN/MSNBC/Fox/Big Tech doing all the heavy lifting, giving them billions of dollars worth of free airtime and bandwidth, airbrushing over any unpleasant nazi implications or corruption scandals or mention of how they've been shelling their own people for 8 years, and censoring counter narratives or inconvenient factoids while waging a highly kinetic emotional offensive. None of this is new, except the social media angle. Wag The Dog (1997) was about exactly this.

Russia SUCKS at propaganda, tho it doesn't really matter because they don't have any friendly platforms in the West. They seem to understand this, so aren't really trying to propagandize to us. They're Ivan Drago from Rocky IV: all terse statements and Slavic violence. I assume it's very different in Russia.

There is the outward appearance of strength, but on the inside there is considerable rot. Much of America's "power" these days is imported from the outside. The country imports people in the same way it imports goods. And for many of the same reasons. Because it cannot produce what it needs in terms of humans or skills internally.

- The "scientific" power of the United States is mostly imported from elsewhere and bought on the open market.
- American popular culture is very often these days shaped by Chinese needs and Chinese censorship. This is especially true in films. But more broadly. John Cena had to humiliate himself for daring to offend the Chinese because if he did not, he would no longer have a career.
- The US military is not what it was. Its been in decline for years. Afghanistan was a show of part of the rot. But it goes beyond that. We have made a firm decision as a country that the marine corps and the marine soldier is something we no longer want as a country. (see the marine corps reorganization in progress). Then there is the rise of General Milley who was in a crisis more loyal to his Chinese friends than this own country.
- The American higher education system has switched its focus from educating Americans to educating foreigners. They have done this because foreigners come better educated and pay way more money than American students.
- America's intellectual influence exists I guess. But not in a good or useful way. What we export today is bad ideas and intellectually bankrupt concepts. Our influence is partially sustained only because the rest of the world is equally intellectually bankrupt.
- America's economic power has a big problem in that it now inevitably serves the needs of the "empire" outside the United States rather than the interests of itself. The economics of the United States are just one part of the economics of the "dollar zone". The rise of China is also year by year eroding US control and influence of international economic institutions.

America will remain a "great power". But the rot on the inside (moral, intellectual and spiritual) is gradually eroding it away into nothing. Its facing the historic problem of all empires. That the power needed to maintain the empire comes at the expense of the nation. That the needs of the empire come before the needs of the nation. The elite in America views the the United States today - not as a country - but as something like a multi-level marketing scheme. Rather than being a country, they say that America is an "idea". That rather than America having borders, its borders are the borders of "freedom" in the world. They fret among themselves that unworthy Americans can get citizenship through birth when there are so many good people in other places who want to be Americans bring more value to the table.
Americans, as in the people of the United States, do see these problems, and somewhere around at least half of them are doing everything they can to fix them. These problems you bring up don't exist without controversy in America. There's a reason the "Make American Great Again" movement became as popular as it did.

Russia invading countries that wanted to join Nato is like blacks raping a white woman for being racist and crossing the street to avoid them.
Blacks were going to rape the white woman anyway, you being too generous to them.

Does Russia have some sort of equivalent to the Monroe Doctrine that they have a name for, if anyone else knows?

Because in the early 1900s, everybody figured that if women had more power, there would be less war.
Is that why the last Century has been nothing but wars and proxy wars?

Filled up my car yesterday. Don't recommend it. It's cool how this war will be used to push the great reset though, because soon nobody will be able to afford to run their own petrol vehicle anymore and will be forced to rent an electric, just you wait
Agenda 2030, you will own nothing and be happy. Too lazy or busy to browse for the grinning soy boy with a scrawny beard.

The difference is the Eurasian Muslims and Christians have been living side-by-side for centuries, if not nearly a thousand years at this point. It isn't a case of some wildly foreign population suddenly injected into an otherwise homogenous group.
Yes, that's true. Even Poland once had more Moslems, per capita, or whatever, usually Tatars given land by the king in return for military duties. They caused no troubled except to the king's enemies. Now Central Asian Moslems might be a bit analogous to the French-Maghrebi binary. Judging from footage, these Asiatic looking men can look quite bewildered. They probably aren't Russian citizens or have suspect papers which wouldn't withstand scrutiny - not that earning citizenship in uniform is a bad thing. Tatars and Caucasians, I maybe mean mostly Chechens, might be a bit too familiar in the provincial Russia. It should be said that the men from Françafrique fought and died in the trenches like other French men. The same for the British Empire forces. Yet when these moved to the metropolitan country, they seems to develop subversive attitudes. I don't think is an issue for RU. even those anti-Kadyrov elements who enlisted in the UA effort. There are probably Turks fighting for the Ukrainians, and I don't mean the drones. It is a fascinating topic.

McDonald's says it is temporarily closing all of its 850 restaurants in Russia now.
McDonald's is a franchising business, so they don't actually own those locations. If this is true, and they are going to force those licensees to shut down the locations and fuck up their livelihood. This will not really hurt McDonalds as a company themselves, it's just a weak virtue signal. They are just going to sacrifice a couple of small businesses. (licensees usually own just one restaurant)

What is with these hyper-preening Islamist governments/internet Islamists and watching "degenerate"/"haram" media such as anime?

Surely what the Islamic world produces should be enough.
Islamic world produces?

First of all they produce?

And second of all, have you seen the shit they produce?

No wonder the muzzies prefer Japanese haram anime of moegirls to their own shit.

I don't like the argument though that you should accept Russian aggression because you're telling me they're crazy and willing to launch the nukes because they can't have Ukraine.

Now I don't want NATO there as well, but I see this often where especially Russians think they're being coy by threatening to stab you every time you do something to upset them. Imagine how crazy international politics would be if every nuclear nation played the "I'll nuke you if you escalate this" card
Because in such a scenario wherein nuclear suicide is threatened with every escalation, it will go crazy to the point even the slightest provocation causes 1 of 2 things:
1) The bluff of nuclear weapons is exposed; and not just for the nation who threatened nukes but then didn't follow with the threat but virtually every other nation who has made similar threats (most likely outcome)
2) Some crazy mother fucker does usher in the apocalypse because of a perceived diplomatic slight (not likely but terrifying)

That being said, I fully 100% believe Putin is bluffing out his ass; but is Ukraine worth calling the bluff on the off-chance he does want mutual nuclear suicide with NATO?
No, no it's not worth it.

Russia invading countries that wanted to join Nato is like blacks raping a white woman for being racist and crossing the street to avoid them.
:winner:

I swear to god the western media having to tip toe around the fuckton of Nazi symbols in the Ukrainian military is one of the most hilarious things in this, motherfuckers can't post a pic without accidentally showing someone mid Hitler salute
The day Tucker shows a bunch of Azov Battlation and Jews together doing Heil Hitlers on Fox News, will break America hard.
