Some morbid, bizarre thought I had:

Why doesn't a skelly like Eugenia or Ashley just stop eating and drinking entirely? Why not just go all the way to that level, even if it would kill them in less then two weeks?

And would either of them take an operation to prevent them from being able to eat or drink, even if their life would be now measured in a mere week or so, if it meant that they would be the most skelliest skelly to ever skelly? Would they take that operation even if it would kill them?

My theory is Eugenia Cunny's mother feeds her just enough to not starve to death but not enough to contribute to any weight gain. Also absolutely hate that 2010s YouTube vlog channel hard electronic music in the background.

However, what I don't get is why doesn't the mother try to lose weight herself instead of putting it on the daughter? They have the money for nutritionists and trainers for herself and her son, why not do that and take the strain off her body (and her heart, if the heart thing is true?) If the daughter is literally bone thin, the mother is going to look even fatter by default, because seeing the living representation of a skeleton next to a blob, you really see how much blubber the mom has packed onto her own frame.

I'm one of many medfags here but specifically gut surgeries are my jam. All I can really add to this is that a stomach can shrink or expand. Many Anas have binge eating problems, they just don't admit it. The rupturing/stretching etc of stomach walls n shit is no joke, the adhesions folks develop after this happening and or several lapband or gastric surgeries, but this is mostly deathfats stuff.

Patients can live for very long times without food and just IV fluids and TPN, (edit: I personally saw 7months once) kinda interesting to remove eating for such a long period, but my knowledge of it centers around patients having usually horrific reconstruction bowel surgeries that need a long time to heal before you run food=poop thru them.

If Eugenia could somehow go on a completely not-eaing-at-all diet (has she ever mentioned a "mitochondrial problem?" I know a lot of EDs and skelly munchies that claim this, but it is still a load of crap pseudoscience from what I understand) and somehow convince a quack doc to give her TPN , which is essentially IV nutrition but the cells are too big for a standard vein or they'd blow or something so they need a bigger blood vessel. (Picc line in upper inner arm or central line in neck, but I rember hospiyals moving away from those for infections reasons or something, but that was the aughts, but I assume TPN still has to be administered that way?)

I think someone mentioned just cutting limbs off to meet weight Lol but she'd die post op from the amputation I'm sure. Often whenever patients have more major type surgery, a high protein diet of animal products is ordered generally (and meat is definitely better, the doc and nutritionist will say so, but would respect your dumb choice to eat beans instead because you simply won't heal as fast on plant based after surgery, and this also definitely annoys your surgeon)

I was thinking since her death is likely this year that we could use her on one of Jershs merch patches (head on over to the thread if you haven't voiced your opinions or ideas Beauties!)

Post surgical adhesions are def a thing
There are other causes as well. It’s not uncommon in women with endometriosis for example. I’m currently digging around for info regarding adhesions in anorexics that are not secondary to surgery or other known causes. I was not aware it was a concern with them. Fascinating

Adhesions scar tissue is awful, I once heard a surgeon say "it's like cutting through chewing gum." Very hard for them to manipulate and fix things internally. also saw literal organs stuck together by this "chewing gum" scar tissue, no bueno. The more surgeries, the more scar tissue, so it's a sucky thing to go in just to remove scar tissue that u know will just come back. But sometimes has to be done to get out More scar tissue than will grow back (I mean, it doesn't grow like mold or cancer, but is definitely a thing that can become worse over the healing process,. You Want the body to heal and scar over on the surface, but a spot that has previously been operated on is a high risk area for adhesion scar tissue to develop or get worse.)

Ive never known/worked with Anas on this directly to know but anecdotally binge/purge is dangerous. Adhesions is def a thing with deathfats so there's my guess more literature on that.

I think with the type of purging they do, it puts a bad strain (and probably risk of rupture) on the upper curve of their stomach, versus the bottom part when vomiting happens naturally. I wonder if there are any pictures of these burst stomachs? It would be interesting to see what happens (and hopefully to deter any who think of trying it.)
