Dude global conflicts are just like my favorite children's movie. The bad guy's bad because he's bad and the good guy's good because he's good.

Tell me, former Americhildren, was there anyone that genuinely enjoyed Captain Planet?
When we were dumb kids? Yeah it was alright. Looking back there was plenty of laughably retarded shit like the AIDS episode, or the one where they tried to tackle The Troubles and the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and the bad guys gave the IRA nukes

It was one of those things I could only catch the end of. And only occasionally. It looked super cool and I was always glued to the TV during the end "fight" scene.

Can someone enlighten me on why people feel the need to experiment with viruses like WuFlu and Marburg?
The story for civilians is that its about preparing for mutations of viruses and potential new epidemics from unknown viruses. That we are somehow kept safe by them increasing our knowledge of viruses.

The story not for civilians is quite different. The medical-industrial complex in the US is extremely interested in viruses and the modification of viruses to make them do different things. They can see all sorts of uses (military and civilian) from being able to do this. But this research is EXTREMELY dangerous and usually cannot be done in the United States. But they want it done. So what the US does is build facilities overseas and fund research overseas to do work which would be considered totally unethical, immoral or illegal within the United States. They either give researchers money to do "the bad stuff" directly or they gave them money to do something reasonable with a wink-and-nod agreement that the "real work" will be done on the side.
This is what Fauci and the others are really desperate to protect. They are fine with stories about the virus being created in China. But they DO NOT want the extent of the US medical research program overseas made into a public story or have public questions raised about why the US is funding medical research in places like Chinese government labs.

The reason for having a biological and medical lab of any sort in a place like Ukraine is that (a) Ukraine has an educated useful population to staff the place and (b) Ukraine is so politically corrupt that you could get away with nearly anything in terms of medical research.

I don't know what you mean. "Harry Potter and the BIOLABS of UKRAINE" is my favourite book.
It glows in the dark.

In that way where you know it's lame but you watched it anyways because you're a kid and you're not picky about what's on.
And even then you make fun of the guy whose power ring gives him the ability of "Heart" instead of blasting people with fire.

So TL;DR black ops: biohazard edition

I recall some parents/teachers considered the show “educational” (lol), so it was kind of a “free cartoon” we could watch w/o cutting into our regular cartoon time. Individual scenes looked cool, but I don’t think any of us really paid attention to the messages (I swear, it might’ve been subliminal messaging — which is ironic given how parents were going through a moral panic about secret satanic messages being fed to children when the show was airing).

Also, happy 100 pages. Looking forward to 1900 more until thread 3 cones out. 😎
