General Discussion for Virtual Youtubers / Vtubers / Chuubas - it's okay to be a simp for 2D, just don't thirstpost.

Btw not Moona streaming again on her roomate twitch account.
Her eyes really big ^_^
Not sure if she's archiving it, since her filter messed up a few times, but even not Iofi and not Risu were playing with her.

Edit: Risu's back. Also:
This face filter disturbs me for whatever reason, like she walked off the Bee Movie.... Aaaaand it ended, not archived. Did someone paying attention to this do due diligence?
E: Well, I can at least mention she said it's pronounced enka 🤷‍♂️
Did anyone save the VOD like last time?

Mana reactivated her telegram https://t.me/s/manarenewal and is running an underground railway to escape Russia now?

Also Moona is the only ID performing on day one of Fes, is she going to be dancing alone? Or rrat that she is traveling to NA to perform with EN? (this is a dumb rrat).

After 2 years of inactivity, Hatoba Tsugu drops her first video in a while
Holy hell. She's one of the earliest vtuber mystery. Wonder if there's a plan for her now, or is this just a random one off thing.

I never would have expect one of my downtime hobby to become related to life or death situation, but such is the world we live in. Maybe someone should introduce Putin to Korone. Maybe that will make a lasting world peace.

How cool is that, the Light Novel from Hyaken, for which Ina draws the art, gets an anime adaption in January 2023. I'm sure that's something that was on her bucket list for a long time.

Here is the trailer of the anime, the english name is "Reborn to Master the Blade: From Hero-King to Extraordinary Squire ♀"

Sounds generic as fuck.

I still expected the EN Girls to pre-record their part for the Holofes and not actually be there. Guess I was wrong. Still though, they announced this shit back in January, wasnt Japan fairly closed off due to the RONA/Omicron shit? Didn't they risk it by maybe still having the country closed off or would they just pre-record their part as a Plan B? Do companies have a way to bypass the RONA thing?

There are still no indications that they are traveling to Japan. If you are referring to what Ina said, she never specified Japan, just traveling in general.

Anime characters are creating anime characters. The singularity is at hand.
Still amazes me how far she's gotten. I know she's a Tier 1 artist who does high-profile gacha games and stuff, but damn.

I can believe Japan. In this case, it's the simpler option:
  1. Set up a studio in the USA
  2. Fly staff across to man it, since you can't remotely train people to do this
  3. Move everyone (including Kiara) to the studio in the USA
  4. Shut it down after the festival, since the talents are going home anyway.
vs
  1. Sort out the visa and covid
  2. Fly to Japan
I suspect they have a general directive not to talk about Japan until they're out of Japan, or at least to fudge the timing. This would include anything that would imply they're in Japan, such as talking to a JP senpai. Gura in particular is going to give no usable information, as is her tendency.

Protect cute birb from pickles

Hmm. Never thought I'd actually see a real-life Kronii
It still makes me lol at just how sheltered and meek they all are that they think asking a waiter to correct an order is some brave courageous act. Kronii became their superhero by just asking for napkins and no pickles. The absolute state of anime women.

Am I the only one who thinks it's wild how much identity protection is put into idol/vtubers? Like I understand the reasoning behind it all, especially with crazy fans (like rushias). Still it's just insane that people in these positions rarely use their real identity for crediting and have to keep the ambiguity up. Is that just like Asian culture with these type of things?

Like Karen said, there may be a whole bunch of lovely fans waiting to meet them at any given time, but all it takes is That One Fucker With A Knife (TOFWAK) to fucking ruin it for absolutely everyone. Besides, pen/stage names aren't anything new in entertainment.

What I still don't understand about the EN 3D thing is those tweets back in november announcing that the 3D models were delayed. Why would you even announce that to the public - especially considering this was the first official confirmation that EN was getting 3D. I guess that means the plan was to have a separate event completely independent from 3rdfes? Still strange how... unprompted those tweets felt.

On the subject of 3rd fes and the expo, on the main page for both there are several links along the top that look like this:

I felt like there was something missing since I last visited the page, and a quick check on the wayback machine confirmed my suspicions:

Presumably the FAQ was to be added at a later date, but I guess it ended up on the cutting room floor.
Here's a mildly amusing thing also related to the website: there's a background element named "blue_parts_tetris.svg"
