Twitter is currently screaming “racism!” at a movie reviewer who wrote a negative review of the movie.

And it’s not even that negative.

He apparently already deleted the tweet and apologized, but Twitter continues to try and cancel him for not liking the menstration metaphor movie.
That's about as fair a review as you could get for not enjoying something. Stans really miss the forest for the trees at times.

I never understood the "dodgeball bad" cliche in fiction.
At least in the school I went to, dodgeball was the most favorite and anticiapated activty in Phy Ed.
Because the poor little weak special child who is much smarter than all the dumb brutes on their class can’t possible have the strength to pick up a ball and throw it to cause violence! It’s so barbaric, training children to love violence and war!

Does anyone even have or know any kids who are actually interested in Turning Red?

Despite it being advertised everywhere, I don't.

Red pandas didn't deserve this.
I've seen a shirt for the movie being sold at Hot Topic when I was there on Sunday. I didn't take that close of a look but there only seemed to be a few shirts left (that were mixed in with what looked like other shirts).
That's the teen crowd, however. As for kids, my sister is a tween now and is more interested in her Hunger Games and gay guys talking about pop music so I haven't been bothered to ask her.

This movie's vibe is Twitter personified, that's why it gets them so ravenously mad whenever someone critiques it. That, and the animation community on Twitter thinks that by sucking off the directors of this film, they'll be able to network and make friends with people at the notoriously homophobic Disney Corporation.

Yesterday they were all "#DISNEYDOBETTER" and "BOYCOTT DISNEY" until their latest representation and nostalgiabait movie started getting flak online and all of a sudden they're donning armor to protect Disney's honor.

The guy isn't even wrong, it's meant for teenage girls (and women/trannies on twitter in their 20s-30s who want to pretend they're still teenagers and feel nostalgic for the 2000s), he's a middle aged white dude. People want to make it abut race because the protagonist is chinese (and canadian), but she's only one out of four girls at the center of the movie.
Honestly, between this Turning Red movie being astroturfed and Disney proving that they love money and elite status than pandering to a tiny little minority that gets used as tools for infighting over a bill that protects children from being groomed, it’s just never not hilarious to me that people still think that Disney is in a renaissance age when it’s just soulless corporatism being disguised as “family friendly entertainment”.

It’s gotten so bad that I can’t even make “Walt Disney should have checked those Jewish staffers‘ credentials when he had the chance” jokes anymore. Not even pro-Disney millennials that love Frozen can stomach this.

They all look like little Wojaks ready to cry about having to do something that they themselves created.

Only mistake that critic made aside from apologizing was thinking that this was made for a “target audience”. That word hasn‘t mean anything since the last few Star Wars movies were released without love or appreciation to the fans.

Not even China cared for it.
The people astroturfing the movie on Twitter literally do it for fucking free just to signal how they're on the right side of history.

I want this fucking thing to come out already so people on Twitter forget about it in two days like they did with Raya. Not releasing this film in theaters is great because it'll be forgotten way faster.

First look at the Robert Zemeckis live-action Pinocchio remake that's out in September. Tom Hanks is playing Gepetto. Other cast members include Benjamin Evan Ainsworth as the titular puppet, Joseph Gordon-Levitt as Jiminy Cricket and Cynthia Erivo as The Blue Fairy.

>Going straight to Disney+

So basically, anything that's not from Disney's in-house animation studio, Marvel, or Lucasfilms will be dumped on Disney+ from here on out? Guess it's fitting, given that none of these films are anything people are wanting to watch anyway, so they can dump it on a platform that's filled with far better movies people actually want to watch.

It's hard to tell what was being made for the service in the first place and what's just being dumped there because they don't want to deal with the hassle of putting it in theatres. Turning Red is obviously the latter, but for some reason this feels more like the former. That's probably just because I'm more inclined to be favourable to it existing at all though, I've always liked Disney's version of Pinocchio.

This isn't even the only Pinocchio remake to come out this year!

We have Twinkocchio -

Then Guillermo del Toro's version (the clear winner, like, it's not even a contest):

Since the Rat saw other people making money without him, he just can't have that! So why not take another one of Walt's animated classics, throw some shitty live -action CGI paint all over it, and shit it out on Disney+ just to make a few more fucking shekels?!

Burn in Hell, Chapek.

Watch out, if you point this out we'll have to sit through dozens of "'Boycott Disney for being homophobic' and 'Watch Turning Red on Disney+ 10 times to own the incel chuds' are things that can coexist" tweets.

I'm sure this will be ass, but tbf Pinocchio has a lot more room for uncanny valley since he's literally a living Gerry Anderson effect
still not even the first time Disney's done live action of this
with Shields or Yarnell, whichever was the guy
