Patrick Sean Tomlinson / @stealthygeek / "Torque Wheeler" / @RealAutomanic / Kempesh / Padawan v2.5 - "Conservative" sci-fi author with TDS, armed "drunk with anger management issues" and terminated parental rights, actual tough guy, obese, paid Quasi, paid thousands to be repeatedly unbanned from Twitter

FWIW, Onaforums has dispelled this as being an absolute Tomlinson Tall Tale. There's a million red flags but I'll stick to the "no shit sherlocks" of the case:

1: Little children that die in public pools always make the local newspaper. Someone did research at the place he worked out and found a 7-year-old had died but no trace of a 5-year-old as he claims.

2: Pools, like hospitals, defer to the most senior member in case of emergency. This is the equivalent of a 1st-year medical intern telling the head surgeon to step aside, he's decided to be the lifesaver today.

3. Again like hospitals, if someone dies under your care, you are almost certainly getting sued. ESPECIALLY if you cause the wrongful death of a little girl, that kind of case gives ambulance chasers erections.

Which makes the event, as Patrick tells it, that much stupider. 5-year-old girl starts convulsing while swimming. Patrick Tomlinson, noted expert at everything, is called to give her CPR as he is the best at it. Despite his best-in-the-world efforts, the girl passes away. Her father places a hand on Patrick's shoulder, telling him he did the best he could have done. His daughter's death isn't his fault.
He threw a water balloon filled with paint as an anti-drowning defense.

Yes Patrick, I can easily tell you haven't worked a time clock job in 20 years because if you had, you'd know that any workplace that isn't super shitty you could just go to your boss and say "I forgot to clock in, can I get my hours?" and it's no problem, which I've done in a past time clock job where I forgot to clock in every now and then.
Exactly, most common workplace time clock systems have a 20% rate of error built in, and sometimes the clock doesn't work!

and employers do have to pay people who work all day regardless of a clock error. there are laws and shit.
edit- in context pat is talking about his dreams, and he's an idiot, so this may not be applicable.

Some states issue TRO's far more commonly than others. It's something completely up to the judge and not appealable. Most judges, though, prefer to just grant preliminary injunctions instead. In Federal Courts they are governed by rule 65 (b) of FRCP. In state courts, it's governed by state rules. Is that enough, or did you want something more specific?
Nope, that's perfect and basically what I thought as far as TROs are concerned, my experience with them is in State (district) courts, and as another good man stated:
You do not want to be that judge who thought Son of Sam looked pretty okay and then he went on a shooting spree the very day you denied a restraining order.
I'm from an area with a high rate of DVs and other domestic violent crimes so they're real quick to issue TROs for anything and everything, but only about 50-60% of them actually stick and are granted long term.

Guys like him seem to have this idea that all bosses are a combination prison warden and slave overseer, standing there with a whip and laughing at you while you cry that your children are starving-- or in his case, would be starving if he hadn't disowned them. I'm perfectly willing to grant that there are definitely some toxic assholes out there who have no business being in charge of anyone or anything, but by and large most people will be reasonable if you're not a habitual fuckup. And to blame this only on 'capitalism' is asinine, what, were collective farm bosses or Reich procurement officers any nicer? Is the CCP known for its strong workers-rights laws, competitive wages and safe workplaces?
In most blue collar jobs you're working under a guy who did what you do, and respects your time because he might remember his time not being respected. In the "creative sector" he's working under freakish semi-sentient goblins who grind up thousands of worthless hacks to produce a single droplet of talent. His only coworkers are absolutely deranged child rapists and his bosses are their goblinoid handlers.

No idea why he's so angry over this. Can any Americans provide context?

Pat has a nasty habit of quoting people completely out of context in an effort to mock them. So I don't feel bad about posting this snippet:

Regarding the first one, I think he is upset because it makes the game easier. Think about it, a bigger plate means that there is less distance between bases. While this may seem negligible at first, it could be the difference between being safe or out in a tight situation.

Now that he knows where the anus is, do you think Patrick Tomlinson (who is notoriously fat) shall stop shitting out of his mouth?

ah, my mistake. not sure where I pulled that from, I was looking at the wiki. unlike pat i'm not pretending to be a jet expert.

Edit: I mean,.. NOOOOOOOO Chilllllld. You DonT know what you're Talking abouT
The F-18 is pretty much an F-16 modified to carry a second engine because the navy is obsessed with that. Don't feel too bad, they're all cool planes and all, but basically 50 years old at this point.

People spew autism over them like train spergs train sperg.

I like that he's getting savaged by tankies too. It's funny in a karmic way.

They are two completely different warplanes child, built by two different corporations and separated by twenty years in development. Both can be defeated by paintballs shot from a slingshot dear sweet baby child.

ACHTUALLYYYYY *autism incoming* the F-15 and F-18 were made by McDonnell Douglas, and the F-16 by General Dynamics. Why are you so bad at this. I'll go ahead and autism react myself

And almost all Jeeps used in WWII were built by Ford. Ehhh.

It's slightly easier to get on base now, but this doesn't unfairly benefit one team over another since every team is going to be playing with those bases so this just seems like more oinking.

I can almost see this as a safety thing basically allowing a baseman to be on base without being in the way of the runner.

This is probably the actual reason. Besides, slightly larger bases can't ruin baseball. The designated hitter rule already ruined it.
I thought that the sport being so boring that the only way to sit through a game is to drink a beer per inning ruined baseball. Which might explain why day drinking patty is such an avid fan
