Alright I'm getting this from a Russian source so feel free to distrust it, but apparently this is video of Ukrainian police gunning down the head of SBU (Ukrainian FBI) in Kiev. They had tried to detain him at a checkpoint and he started to open fire in his escape attempt.

I love the little bits here and there about people from the US or UK with a War on Terror credit under their belt, who have managed to get there, thinking what they saw in Bronze Age goat fucker shit-holes will be the same as a tour of this shit, come under one attack, and are ready to go fucking home.

Nut the fuck up, Princess, I thought you were the biggest badasses ever! Didn't your training cover extended artillery bombardment, direct frontal attacks with flank probing attacks, infantry with tank support and CAS?

What?

It didn't?

And you didn't know what it was like fighting an actual army instead of 5 goat fuckers with 4 AK's between them? You didn't train for this? Nobody warned you that this was going to be something that's not a couple IED's and a bunch of faggots who stand up and shoot at you before running away?

What's that, that unique sound Russian equipment makes now gives you the shakes?

What's that, you didn't sign up for this?

Oh, my condolences.

No, I'm totally not laughing at you. Really, I'm not.

I think this is more likely supposed to be the killing of Denys Kyreyev. Kyreyev was part of the delegation to the first talks with the Russians. Then around five days ago he was reported as having been shot and killed by the SBU. Then after that accused of unspecified treason. As far as I know the head of the SBU is still very much alive.
-----------
EDIT - I found the original report and I dont think this is Kyreyev anymore. This is supposedly "Dmitry Demyanenko, a former deputy head of the SBU's Main Directorate in Kyiv and the Kyiv region" whatever that means. This was reported by a Ukrainian "journalist" on the Russian side and not in Kiev.

They say that "Men who have nothing to lose are the most dangerous"

But I say "Men who have nothing to lose are the most autistic and retarded of all"
As I said in the volunteersforukraine thread Putin could entirely offset the economic damage of the sanctions by offering people redditor hunting safaris. For a fixed price you can be guided around the rubble of Ukraine looking for redditors then when you locate one blow its face off with Russian equipment of your choosing (MLRS costs extra).

What's crazy about the neo-nazi symbols that have been popping up in Western media is how they handle it. You would hope they would say something honest like "yes there's some bad dudes there but those bad dudes are better than Putin's dudes so were gonna let it slide and we'll sort that shit out when we get to it". But instead it's just full on "What nazis? Oh those ones, don't worry about it it's nothing we aren't going to talk about it. Oh I deleted a picture of a soldier with the black sun? What picture, it doesn't exist, you are spreading pro-Putin propaganda".

Social media allowing calls for violence against Russia?
This is great.
No really!
Now I can go online and call for the death of “Russian politicians” and “Russian journalists” and “Russian Senators” and the “Russian President” and and “Russian news anchors” and “Russian globohomo corporations” and “Russian actors”.
Phrasing my friends. Just have to get the right phrasing.

Yeah. Violence is only inappropriate until it isn't.

Obviously there is a belief that isn't enough of a war frenzy yet. And that somehow by getting people to talk openly about murdering strangers that they will be more in a mood to support higher gas prices now and nuclear war later.

i wouldn't be so sure about kiev capitulating immediately once surrounded. leningrad held for over 2 years against the german forces besieging the city, and that army was probably a lot more ruthless and brutal than the current russian army is. also, a more recent example, sarajevo in bosnia held out against besieging serb forces for almost 4 (!) years.

we can't really tell how things are going to play out in advance, but expecting kiev to just roll over and die for free once the russian lines close around the city is a bit optimistic i think.
Leningrad was able to hold out so long because 1) they resorted to eating corpses instead of burying them, and 2) they were not 100% cut off, in the winter season they were resupplied by trucks driving over a frozen lake. Not familiar with Sarajevo so I can't comment on that. But unless Kiev is willing to resort to extreme measures, they likely will fall once surrounded.

They could possibly keep Kiev resupplied from the air, similar to the Berlin Airlift that the Allies did to keep commies from starving West Berlin. But unlike the Berlin airlift they would be doing it under constant enemy fire from the ground and air.

Keeping Kiev is not impossible for Ukraine, but imo once Kiev is surrounded, they're only keeping it if the Russians let them.
