WW2 Japan was racist as fuck. Against whites (who they had a burning sense of resentment and inferiority towards), but much more so against other Orientals like the Chinese (who they murdered in their millions) and Koreans, and Filipinos, whose kids they enjoyed using for target practice when they weren't running around hospitals stabbing the patients, or burning down schools and convents with helpless civilians trapped inside. Their war crimes are legendary, worse than anything the Nazis and Soviets ever did. Maybe worse than Genghis Khan, who at least knew how to turn people into allies because he wasn't a racist lunatic out to brutally enslave anybody who didn't belong to his tribe.

There's a reason pretty much everybody in East Asia really fucking hates the Japs, even to this day.

Yeah here's a news flash for anybody that has not spent much time surrounded by various flavors of Asian's. White People barely show up on their radar. They have millennia of deep seated hatreds of their various neighbors to a degree rarely openly displayed in the Western World. It's like watching your Grandfather go on a rant about "them damned EyeTalians!" In East Asia they all hate each other, and everybody especially hates the Japanese. While they are all more than a bit prejudiced against black people (who aren't Wil Smith!) It's more of an abstract thing, as to them Black People mostly only exist on American Television and Movies. Actually seeing one in person, that isn't in a US Military Uniform, is kind of like spotting Bigfoot. What can befuddle Westerners is how much these local hatreds exist within what we consider countries. With China being the go to example. What is hard for modern American's to grasp is up until the last 50 years or so, all through it's 3000 year history the Chinese Language was a common WRITTEN language. Every town and village had their own spoken dialect.

I agree (they're dead anyway) but this kind of thing should still be punished. We don't want people to think it's ok fuck around with dead bodies, for a whole bunch of reasons. It's great propaganda for the enemy, invites reprisals, and not only dehumanizes the people you're gonna have to eventually come to peace with, but also dehumanizes the people who do it. War is already hell enough without becoming a demon.

In WW2 it wasn't uncommon to send Jap skulls back home as gifts. FDR himself was gifted a letter opener made from a Japanese guy's arm.

Question for older, more observant kiwis: Has the US government/media used the phrase "false flag" to describe another countries supposed actions this much before? In Syria they constantly claimed Assad was gassing his own civilians or dropping nail bombs on them, but never that he was false flagging the whole thing to set up the rebels. Meanwhile the phrase "false flag" has made it into virtually every household over the last decade. Could this be a way to preemptively excuse any chemical or biological weapons the Ukes might use in desperation?
