It's really because they've picked a name that's terrible from an SEO perspective. If you Google "checkin" you'll get airlines and airports, and Googling "checkin app" will get something similar, mixed in with results for various apps designed for hoteliers and hospitality business owners managing reservations.

Even if you Google "checkin coach" you get tonnes of results for life coaches offering a monthly check in package, or work performance management software.

The trend holds up if you type it into the app store or Google Play:


The should have called it something unique, rather than an incredibly common term that has a lot of apps associated with it. Possibly they're trying to spread through word of mouth, with inspirational and activist influencers plugging that they're coaches on the app with direct links, but even then they'd have been better off with a name like TalkTime or OnYourMind or even something relatively meaningless like "Bloogy".

That said, the app is clearly still in its early phase (they're not charging for coaching sessions yet) so maybe they're trying to build out their coaching network before going all in on marketing. I maintain that unqualified, poorly vetted counselling with no oversight is a recipe for disaster, though.
