This I think illustrates Rick's problems better than anything else here. One of the many, many, many people picking a fight with Rick offers him an out, if Pat can stomach the fact that crazy person will "win" the exchange, and Rick refuses it, despite knowing that taking the bait means the crazy person also wins. And so faced with a pair of lose/lose scenarios, he goes for the one that leads to him continuing the fight with the crazy person.

Would a normal person spend several months fighting trolls in a single thread on reddit's /r/autism?

Patrick is a very special boy who's relentless energy is slowly being sapped away by one of the worst (best) communities to ever exist. All because he refuses to take a knee and admit he lost
