1. Russian OPSEC being extremely tight for front/war footage. A person can tell a great difference between main Russian forces and the breakaway republic forces by the gulf of informational difference being put out by the two groups.

That's the big disappointment. There's close to no frontline war footage with actual gunplay. The most notable footage that comes out of the Russian telegrams include videos of large convoys, bombings, and city occupations by ground forces, and most of those are either recorded by authorized Russian media or Ukrainian civilians. Those three types of videos, among others, are the only things I can use to make inferences about the war

Most videos showing dead bodies only show those of Ukrainian civies, which is reasonable since Ukies can use those for evidence of war crimes. When it comes to footage or photos of dead Ukie soldiers though, there's almost nothing.

I have to ask what you contribute by even being here. All you do is post the same message about 10 times an hour and try to make the thread about your personal drama rather than discussing the war. Yeah. Your the most special snowflake in Europe. I get that. But you are boring and have nothing to say.
Don't fall for it.

Modern civilization has some how bred out people's survival instinct, basic sense is esoteric knowledge.
It actually has. In order to do well in modern society, you often have to repress your instincts and common sense to weasel your way up an artificial hierarchy. The only instincts that are preserved are ones having to do with socialization (any wonder women are excelling men in professional careers), hence how higher ups can be such NPCs. The exception are people who really get to the top, as they are sociopaths who know how to work the system and are ruthless in their ascent (any wonder why most CEOs are still largely men). These sociopaths with iron hearts then have flocks of sheep to carry out their deeds, all the while with a smile on their face and a catchy slogan they sing with their hearts.

Disagree on the AA part, AA isn't only meant to take down aircraft but is also supposed to serve as a deterrent to aircraft, if an AA system is forcing the enemy to use it's Airforce significantly less than it can, it's doing it's job, and the Russian Airforce has basically been MIA for the most part for the last week. A significant amount of the "bombings" seem to actually be artillery fire. The Stingers also seem to be just as much as a nightmare to the Russians as they were to them in Afghanistan.
Well. Last night they did missions and hit three airfbases in far western Ukraine. Bases that should have had some of the strongest remaining air defenses in the country. I dont know that their airforce has been MIA. But I think that however well they are doing with their existing AA, they should have had a more extensive system especially in the east given their stand and fight tactics. The point of the comments was suggest areas where they could have improved, not necessarly areas where they failed.
The stingers are useful in certain roles, but they don't take the place of a larger AA system covering an area.

Us Pro-Russians need to stick together guys, the mean Pro-Ukrainians are out posting us in war casualties. Here have another downed Russian Su-25 combat jet to cheer you up.

The Russians aren't using their most modern jets, and I'm fairly certain(for all that's worth) theybare being saved in case they need then for NATO. This war isn't between Russia and the Ukraine, it's a proxy war between China and USA(globohomo) which is kinda crazy to think about. Proxies have nukes now. But since the real enemy is NATO/the US military, Russia hasn't been sending their best. Idk if that's a credit to the Ukraine AA system or a tactical choice.

Everyone should remember that once Russia let Syria have their most recent previous AA system the US quickly removed their planes and the no fly zone they had set up over there.

Do the Russians have any sort of AWACs equivalent?

Seems like they doing this old school and just sending out planes on individual missions and return.

In a recent video released by their MOD, the SU-35 fired a missile while flying about cloud cover iirc.

Either they don't want to cause collateral damage or really don't know what to bomb to really hurt the holhols, who I am sure are hiding a lot of stuff.

The Italians have reportedly seized Russian billionaire Andrei Melnichenko’s yacht (Russian Oligarch)

Based wops. The world's at war and their soldiers are partying on a billionaire's yacht. You know, because it needs to be protected, in case the Russians try to come take it.

They're not using their most modern jets because they have six of the damned things in inventory.

I recall seeing somewhere on the first thread a video of a foreign (British or American?) journalist who was accompanying a Russian unit convoy, what was the guy's name? I'm interested to see the takes of independent journalists on the ground.

A popular consensus in my IRL social circle is that Putin is planning to take everything along his border and maybe beyond. Also that Russian planes have been in the air space of places like Poland and Finland. That doesn't seem like his MO. Thoughts?
