I just had a stupid thought, remember how in high school the star athletes would get out of homework and stuff sometimes? I wonder if Rhys thought that's how CofC was going to treat him. I think Rhys saw himself as a star athlete professor, that's why he never did a single thing beyond teach his sections. He can't be attending stupid fucking meetings, he needs to train. Kransoff must be transphobic expecting Rhys to publish papers and do three cable news appearances a year. This is real community engagement. Rhys is a motherfucking trans icon making this school look good, bitches!
I think back at the way he acted during his last two years as a professor, and this is the only thing that makes sense to me. Anybody could have done that job, it was a joke. But I can see a spoiled Rhys McKinnon being crushed that his badminton exploits weren't as celebrated as the high school football team's, and I can see him not letting that go. It doesn't make sense for him to try and live that out in his 30's especially as a professor and not a student, but I've stopped expecting McKinnon to make sense. I wonder if deep down he's just that same angry boy who doesn't understand why he isn't the star. How pathetic that would be.

I wonder if he has actually been given this diagnosis officially, by some quack who he scared, or he has chosen the illness for maximum asspats?. My money is on the latter and i hope something really awful does happen to him so he gets to experience what ptsd is really like.

It's pretty much a sure thing that he got an official diagnosis from Dr. Anything-You-Like. Even a goofball college wouldn't just give him for-real disability leave without some sort of documentation.

He was on sabbatical, so he wouldn't have needed any documentation for CPTSD. The College of Charleston website says that faculty are eligible to take a sabbatical after 6 years, and his CV says he started at CoC in 2014. The timeline seems to fit.
The only public claims of CPTSD that I remember were the shaky hand video and outrage that his department wouldn't screen his email for him.
He's trying to rehab his image with all of this recent CPTSD twittering. He lost his job due to transphobia and not because he's a raging narcissist completely divorced from reality. Clearly.

Well this is interesting. He did a single speaking gig the first month he left CofC. That was the Smercornish interview. Then nothing until The Hill's gay thing, them the Smercornish radio interview, then the UK bicycle thing, and finally the super embarrassing "physicians" panel. Assuming each pays as much as CNN (they don't), he made around $60k speaking last year.
The thing is, he was making that plus his CofC paycheck. Sorry bud, you can't paint this as a win. Sure he's not starving, but he's not living on his own either. He can proclaim his success all day and night, but we've seen where he lives.

I'm pressing X for doubt that he can still charge 11.5k for a speaking engagement (though maybe that's why he's not doing many?). The fee you get is basically based on your current relevancy and Rhys is irrelevant. These days everyone wants Lia Thomas if they're going to pay big bucks for a cheating man to speak. Remember Rhys got $1,000 for his speaking engagement at Michigan State. 11.5k CAD is around 9k USD are you telling me that Rhys' charges have gone up tenfold over the pandemic?
Rhys you are so full of narc bullshit. If a you were paid 11.5k for an appearance, I would imagine the event would be plastered EVERYWHERE. The farms is the only place that follows you and we've heard nothing.
EDIT: The only people that would pay Rhys to speak are tranny studies college departments. 11.5k is basically their entire budget.

In theory, the material you could hope for would be:
- Information on Rhys' hiring (apparently the SC FOIA allows this). Interestingly, you can apparently ask for "materials relating to not fewer than the final three applicants under consideration for a position". So you could see who was passed over for the Diversity Golden Ticket.
- Performance reviews and/or disciplinary actions
- Angry emails from the university president from that time Rhys made national news for hate speech on Twitter
- Student (or faculty) evaluations of his courses
- Correspondence from the "Screen My Mail Saga"
- Departmental bickering in general
- Research grants, expenditures on sending him to conferences or whatever
- Information on his CPTSD flim-flam (this is probably all considered "medical records" and ineligible)
- Information on the sabbatical
- Information surrounding his firing (to the extent that it's not considered "legal records" since Rhys was supposedly bringing lawyers into the mess)
Any lawyers know how much of that would be realistic to expect?

Sorry for the big quote...but there's a legitimate public interest angle in any correspondence involving that student athlete (sprinter) who was publicly opposed to males in her division.
Selena? It would take some crafting. But university professors using institutional resources to direct harassment and manipulate the athletic decision making bodies is an abuse of power in a contentious situation, and well outside the protections offered by academic freedom.
Rhys being gone doesn't remove him from accountability for past actions, and this issue is getting hotter. @Coachblade on twitter is crossing into Rhys' sphere and she's a pitbull with a lot of resources. Track and field is also her sport. I do not have sufficient degrees of separation to do more than muse about about this possibility. But I can't help feeling this mine isn't fully tapped. And I'm a rabid TERF thanks largely to Rhys, so continuing to see mining here would please me.
