In regards to why Albania has gone all in on "Russia bad" there are a few reasons:
1. They're part of NATO and want to stay in it.
2. They're part of the Schenghen and want to stay in it.
3. They want to join the EU even though most of the population has the very reasonable fear of becoming Greece 2.0. from being made to adopt the euro.
4. The entire existence of Kosovo hinges on the notion that Serbia will be fucked in the ass by NATO if they conduct any military action on it and they want to be able to have a corridor open for a possible reunification or some kind of pseudo-federation down the line.
5. They get a shit tonne of money from EU based aid programs which realistically only exist for the political class to steal from.

Some lesser reasons:
6. Russia officially declared Albania an enemy of the Kremlin.
7. Russia has made claims of Albanian mercenaries being sent over to fight for Ukraine.

The last two not being unique to Albania but also included Montenegro and Macedonia.

In conclusion the current political class in Albania are bootlickers and the worst kind too, opportunistic bootlickers.

That's the most bizarre thing about all of this, Visa and Mastercard cut services into Russia but because Russians in Russia have Russian bank accounts that aren't affected by this shit, all it does is affect Yuri or Petr who moved to Germany or New York for work related reasons or running soup kitchens by cutting off all the money they have.

Nah, it's not anything so sinister. Rather what you're looking at is the result of caving to blind demand that companies "sanction" Russia without any sort of thought or nuance as to how to best go about that to pressure Putin without harming his opponents or random innocent people. The people demanding sanctions just have this vague idea that if they can make enough people in Russia miserable enough, that they'll oust Putin to stop the sanctions. How that might actually work as a practical matter, or that people might need the resources being denied them to mount an effective opposition.
