Crimea is iffy. As those were full on Russian soldiers and Russia didn't even have the decency to like about it for more than like a minute. Funding the civil war? Still a shitty thing to do and speaks against the St. Putin narrative that some people cling to, but within the norms of International Relations. But this is not any of that. This is a full scale invasion of another nation with 200-300k troops and shelling the fuck out of their cities. It is completely different than anything that happened with Cuba.
So wars by proxy aren't wars at all?

Well I'm fucked in this scenario, even if I didn't live on the marches of bugmanland.
Basically all of the country minus a few places in the furthest north are completely fucked. I don't have it offhand but there is another map from the nineties that includes likely fallout patterns and everybody gets a high dose of it assuming weather direction is mostly consistent. There are bigger pockets of 'survivable' fallout in a 500 warhead scenario, but 2000 basically everybody dies.

As we know having less territory reduces your GDP per capita that's why Russia, being the biggest country, has the highest GDP per capita whereas Luxembourg is full of swamp dwelling subhumans.
I cant believe how retarded you are. Guess that nick after all wasn't ironic after all.

Ok, tell so me foldless brain, what happens to the economy when instead of spending money on infrastructure or any other investment it has to increase spending on defnece? How expensive is waging 8 years of war? What is a cost of capital that left country because war is bad for bussines? How bad is losing a tourism center to an economy?

In 1962, the USA was preparing for an invasion of Cuba if Kennedy and Khrushchev were unable to reach a deal on the removal of missiles from Cuba. Imagine if, on October 27, instead of telling the USA that the USSR would remove its missiles from Cuba if the USA removed its missiles from Turkey, the Red Army announced a military exercise, Operation: Eagle Hammer, with the stated goal of simulating offensive operations against the United States Armed Forces.

What do you think would have happened to Cuban cities?

So this explains the real reason why Russia wants to stop Ukraine from being assimilated into NATO, Russia's oil & gas driven GDP is threatened by Ukraine joining NATO because they too have untapped oil & gas reserves & would both be competing for the same customers in a situation where Russia would lose hand over fist because NATO specifically exists to be anti-Russia because nobody ever got over the Cold War.
This is so much less of a retarded reason to go after Ukraine than just "NATO will give Ukraine more powerful missiles & threaten the Russian border." It's entirely economic, which further explains why Russia were kicked off the SWIFT system, because even if they take over Ukraine, they can't personally benefit from their oil & gas reserves if no one is willing to trade with them, it's an attack of resource denial in which the currency is denied because the oil & gas can't be.

This pretty much explains everything.

That last guy has to have been in the field for quite a while for his armband to saw through his jacket's outer layer like that.
Verily correct. He bluntly states that the destroyed vehicles where part of the retreating columns, destroyed haphazardly through repeated firings, with some escaping while others lay ruined literally behind the camera.

Just read the article about banning Russian dogs now from competitions, and all the people wearing blue and yellow in 'solidarity' with Ukraine.

It all just affirms my belief that 'the narrative', or whatever you want to call it, has essentially replaced the average bugman's religion.
I'm imagining all the issues previously described, living just for yourself, lacking any sort of purpose that is above the self, having so little in common with your neighbours, whether from multiculturalism or the general disconnect from people in general preferring to be on phones/in front of screens instead of even idle chatter/getting to know your neighbours 'like before';
Going along with the flow, being aware of the current hot topics and trends, the current 'goal and purpose' to achieve, something to believe in, as well as the feeling of being connected to others as we're all along for the ride, we are all finally feeling heckin' validated and even united by standing in unison for Ukraine, for all being vaccinated together, for standing up to orange man bad and kneeling down for our black folx, and burning down evil buildings as we strike back against white supremacy;
It really is just like us good rebel alliance folks fighting the galactic empire bad thing. All of us different and unique, of all skin colors and creeds, just like The Avengers.
And I have to give it to the preachers, they've dismantled the barrier between the causes to fight for and practically every other sphere from education to entertainment, you cannot get away from it anywhere. Your favourite video game developers will signal that they support the current thing, and you will have trans issues in your tv shows. And best of all the preachers are keeping it fresh and exciting, we're going from a mini revolution to mini revolution to war, to plague to war again in just a few short years, there's always something to be excited about that's new and just around the corner. The preachers are in full control of their flock. Real life has become the circus.

I'm left wondering has it always been like this, have people in general have always been this easily programmable, would they have been yesteryear's witch hunters and inquisitors, has the proportion of such people has increased massively due to the previous societal issues that still seem to go unfixed? Is there something wrong with the water we're drinking?
It's only gonna get worse, way worse before it'll get better.

Don't forget the pipeline tax on the pipes running through Ukraine. If Ukraine let's Russia pump gas for free through their territory...

Ukraine doesn't have all that much in terms of oil or gas resources. The Russians took away all the good stuff already in 2014. Ukraine has enough oil and gas to meet its own needs, but no more.

The other way to think about this is that US shale oil has been in a depression for several years due to low energy prices. The net effect of this war is to drive up energy prices and remove enough global capacity to make american energy competitive again. And if Europe can't get gas from Russia, they will end up gettting it from the country with a large surplus of it. The United States.

The UK has the capability of destroying Ireland several times over. What they lack is political will and the lack of benefit from going full Russian retard.
During the Irish War of Independence the UK deployed a a 38k garrison, half of them being irish. They suffered 900 dead soldiers and police officers, and the Irish Republic never held a single piece of territory.
The UK left because the population and politicians agreed that it was a senseless loss of life and money being spent on oppressing a people that was clearly never going to fully accept english rule.
Russia is going full retard because to them the loss of prestige in not controlling Kiev is a greater loss than losing an entire generation of young men and bankrupting themselves just to control one of the poorest nations in Europe.
This reminded me of a similar situation to Ukraine. Look into who funded the IRA. The answer will shock you.

Not all Russian banks were kicked from SWIFT, though.

Just the biggest Russian banks.

Idk. Semi-old numbers, but:

Ukraine: 395,000,000 barrels of proven oil reserves as of 2016

Russia: 80,000,000,000 barrels of proven oil reserves as of 2016

For some Euro perspective:

UK: 2,754,685,000 barrels of proven oil reserves as of 2016

Norway: 5,138,767,000 barrels of proven oil reserves as of 2016

Romania: 600,000,000 barrels of proven oil reserves as of 2016

"Proven" is an estimate of what's commercially viable to recover at any given time, so that number changes with prices, technology, new discoveries, old fields being tapped out, etc. but it doesn't look like Ukraine is sitting on a strategically significant hydrocarbon bonanza that'll threaten Russian exports.

Oil and gas is definitely part of the calculation tho, I don't think Putler would've invaded if Nord Stream 2 was operational - that would be a huge strategic sacrifice. I think they felt like they were being asked to eat shit and like it on both the economic and strategic fronts, Nord Stream 2 was never going to get approval, and invading Ukraine was basically them flipping the table at what they believe is a rigged game.

Where are you seeing plane? Isn't it most likely a rocket attack similar to the rocket attacks in retaliation to Soleimani being killed?

Supposed video, wrong thread really sorry. Is there an Iraq thread?

Wasn't a plane; my bad. The building was hit by six Fateh-110 missiles, which are launched from trucks.
