One of the worst aspects of illegal AND legal immigration is how fucking much these people take. Over my life I've seen multiple piers, shorelines and forests just emptied of wild food and animals. I try to educate fellows to practice release, stop creating so many orphaned animals and not be so fucking greedy but they don't stop and then complain the harvest is weaker every year. Why would they stop when poaching laws might as well not exist and 'muh global warming' fucks don't contribute to nature and wildlife warden funds. You can't even mention that a huge problem are illegals/immigrants because it's considered racist to try and educate them about ethical harvesting. I'm not going to be gaslit into caring for human-shaped locusts.

As a wildlife rehabber I totally get this. I deal with human stupidity/illegal hunting/poaching all the time and I end up cleaning up after their fuck ups by constantly having to raise orphaned wildlife for release (which by the way in NYC is something you can't get paid for so I have to pay all expenses out of my pocket to rehab orphaned animals. These fucks cost me money). I used to live near Jamaica Bay in Queens and illegal poaching for seafood was a constant aggravation. It was a mix between Indian and Asian immigrants who insist on going out in the bay in the middle of the night with flashlights to gather clams, oysters, and crabs.

On the good side, the department of fish and wildlife was somewhat responsive to poaching so you could usually get them out there in the middle of the night with a call but nevertheless when all you receive is a desk ticket and a fine, there's no incentive to stop. On top of this, there was the problem with Indians holding their fucked up religious ceremonies on the shores of the bay and leaving it insanely littered with headless chickens, blood in the sand, all kinds of fucking coconut shells, flowers, and all other sorts of litter.

And if you try to enforce the "no littering" for the bay, you get hit left and right with all kinds of racist accusations and how it's religious freedom and all this bullshit. Yet for the locals like I was, it was a nightmare with unimaginably filthy and littered shorelines.

This whole thing about how so many immigrants have no respect for where they're moving and how destructive and disrespectful they are is a serious thing that is very rarely addressed.

It's the disgusting effect of "all cultures are just as valid as any other" and "let them continue their ancestoral practices" that is applied to immigrants that make it so that rather than become part of the culture they have invaded, they just act like locusts and keep doing the same thing that turned their home countries to shit.

They need to go back to arresting and deporting these people instead of allowing them to just consume everything we've worked so hard to conserve or pull back from the brink of extinction.

Right now they are going off about how great Biden is great and how he just got handed bad conditions with a poor economy and war. They are also going off on Orange man because of course.

To add to our nuclear debate, they were mad at Trump for discussing how windmills kill the birds, which bruh… Then they pulled the epic own by saying no, his building is doing that. (Sigh…)

Sometimes I'm reminded how fortunate I am that I was able to start swaying my parents early and now they've went from fence riding moderates to actual conservatives. As general advice to anyone trying to chip away at all of the brainwashing, I've noticed with older people that you have to slowly wake them up. When the time is right, casually drop that you've noticed the word equity is being used in place of equality these days and it ask if they've noticed it. Point out that the two may sound similar but are completely different concepts. I've mentioned this to a handful of actual boomers and also to middle aged friends that have been left behind by the Democratic Party and once they see it they just can't stop noticing it. It definitely opens the door to other fruitful conversations.

It was more difficult with my dad because, mild PL, he was military. So he was more programmed to see the government as an overall good thing. The final straw for him that officially kicked him from being more or less ambivalent to Bidens fuckups though was Biden fucking up so hard in Afghanistan, and I imagine it was the same for a lot of vets, because they knew what was being fucked up and had likely experienced for themselves what it was like when a man in a suit makes a dumb decision thousands of miles away and good soldiers die in some shithole because of it.
