Russian strike on Ukrainian training base reportedly killed around 180 foreign fighters. The news is being reported by both sides.

Brazilian foreign fighter in Ukraine has reported about this news on his Instagram story and stated “the base where we were was attacked now from missiles more than 200 dead, 200! people that came to help the Ukrainian people”

Another Brazilian foreign fighter has survived the Russian strike on an Ukrainian training base and stated: “Thank you God for another day of life. Sad for the friends who died in the attack on our base.”

technically a mercenary fights for pay yeah, while people who fight for free are instead called volunteers, partisans, franc-tireurs, guerrillas, etc. but both are unlawful combatants and not entitled to POW status on capture so it's not a huge difference.

Ukrainian negotiator Mykhailo Podolyak at the peace talks is saying that the Ukrainians are beginning to make progress on unspecified issues but that they haven't compromised on anything. With the implication being that Russia is the one conceding. He says that he thinks results will begin to be achieved in a few days.

One of the Russian delegates, Leonid Slutsky has surprisingly backed this up and says there has indeed been significant progress in the talks. Slutsky believes that they may eventually be able to come to a "joint position" and begin drafting documents to sign within a few days.

I predict one of three things is going to come out of these talks:
1. A negotiated settlement is reached where both sides can claim victory and then we can start this dance again whenever the Western elites need something to distract the populace again.
2. A negotiated settlement is reached but this displeases the glowie boys and they instigate another coup in Ukraine in order to keep Russia bleeding.
3. Nothing happens.

All in all I very much doubt peace is going to come easily or satisfactorily.

There's footage from Kharkhiv of a Russian tank shooting up an apartment building. The context that provides the "Why" is missing as the clip is pretty short. It's way back there though so probably not worth digging up unless you got time.

Russian and Ukrainian negotiator apparently both say they're making progress so there may not be a taking of those cities, though Kharkhiv may end up in Russian hands once it's all said and done.

Dude was a freelance photographer/videographer, not a journalist. There is obvious propaganda value in saying "they're killing American journalists!!1!1" so that is what the story will be.
