I think it's born from the fact that the community of online transsexuals won't allow any sort of second-guessing, unless you're insignificant enough and fortunate enough to go unnoticed. Not to mention, the foundation of transitioning is based in a sense of selfishness, so going against that would require levels of introspection and humility that I've not seen in many of them.
