Stage a protest the government doesn't approve of in America and see what happens.
Counter protestors will show up, a fight will break out & the district attorney will selectively prosecute whoever they don't like & release whoever they do like. And even when that happened, Kyle Rittenhouse was acquitted of all charges for self defense.

I'm really tired of this "But whutabout Americuh" rhetoric, Putin has committed well known political assassinations which have yet to become a thing in the United States, that is unless you're willing to admit the Arkanacides were all real.

People said Poots was not stupid enough to actually invade Ukraine.

I think I saw Lindsay Graham or some other dumb US politician today was saying Poots wouldn't launch nukes even if NATO got involved.

Is the term WWIII limited to just a war with Nuke being tossed around?

Or if the "important" countries get in a war with each other and they hold off nuking each other, does that count?
ww3 is suicide of world power. Look at europe, before ww1/2 and now.

I don't think that's so much an issue of the world war as much as it's an issue of people just becoming complacent and as a result retarded. Europe still has a lot technology from that era that's used around the world but it was amazingly slow to adopt anything that's common in Asia like the touch screen.

As if Russia has never asked for help from a potentially hostile country ever before.
If you are talking the Nazi-Soviet Pact, both sides helped each other. The Nazis wanted Soviet grain, oil, and raw materials. The Soviets wanted some weaponry, but most importantly time to prepare for the inevitable war with Germany. Both wanted their spheres of influence.

Question for pondering - which side benefitted most from the Nazi-Soviet Pact? I'd say the Germans did. They were getting Soviet shipments of oil, grain and raw materials right up to the day Operation Barbarossa started. In contrast, the Soviets frittered away a lot of time fighting the war with Finland, then rebuilding the ravaged Red Army. After the end of that war the Soviets did some half-hearted preparation of a "Stalin Line", which turned out to be useless against the German attack. The Germans provided little in the way of arms. To be sure, the Soviets gained something of a buffer zone with their part of Poland and the Baltics, but to little avail once Barbarossa kicked off.

You might find this interesting. I can't assess the truth beyond mainstream media is running with it. But the Russian Warship seen in your picture. The one that attacked snake island, may have seemingly run into a spot of bother.
This continues to be not a good look for Vlad.

Political assassinations?

JFK, RFK, MLK, Malcolm X, Fred Hampton and Medgar Evers, and those were the major ones and there has been a few ever since.

Though the neoliberals and neocons have settled for character assassinations these days but they will go back to the old school ways when things get rough for them.

Oh wait of course, how could I have forgotten about him, Jeffrey Epstein.

Watch Biden's actions, forget the rest.

Congress and the Press can holler all day but the buck stops with him, and his lot just don't care.

His lot are still looking for ways to fuck over the average American and trying to stop the assfucking in the midterms and of couse, the gunz.

John Kerry saying so damn early that he wanted to work with Putin on climate change gives you an idea over what Biden's handlers want.

Lindsey Graham and the neocons are an impotent lot mad at Biden for not nuking Russia and Biden and his lot don't care what the neocons want, since they are expendable and outlived their usefulness.

Perhaps, but I'd still like all three with the Surf Mommy. 👍

Ya, a while ago my brother called me and said Russia had requested aid from China for this war.

To borrow a quote from Saving Private Ryan, things have moved into the surreal.

if you listen carefully, you can hear every Russian Tsar, every dead Soviet leader, and Boris Yeltsin spinning in their graves at 2000 rpm. Nikita Khrushchev's going even faster since he was in power during the Sino-Soviet split. His turbo kicked in.

One great truth of life is Russians don't care much for Chinese. The Chinese don't care much for anyone else except other Han Chinese.

If Russia has, in fact, asked for ANY aid from China, Putin's telling the world his forces in their present state cannot get the job done in Ukraine. For some reason, I see a connection between this and Russia telling the two South Korean airlines they wouldn't be able to refuel their planes if they landed in Moscow.

Things to consider...first, did THAT much money intended to provide for the military end up in people's pockets? THAT much? The money for fuel/rations/supplies/tanks/trucks? Apparently Putin was betting on the come, that Ukraine would put up token or no resistance, and so the takeover was affordable. Putin's found himself fighting a poor man's war now, just enough to grind, not enough to win decisively without use of WMDs. What happened to Russia's reserves of equipment? Was it all sold off? Was it left to rust since those in charge of taking care of it just kept the money and let it go? What sort of support did Russia ask from China? Brother said equipment. Wonder what, maybe trucks. Can't see tanks or planes. He also mentioned unspecified "support". My guess - helping work around sanctions on the Russian economy. Surely Putin wouldn't ask for combat troops. China would be crazy to send them, and Chinese troops would have a good chance at being shot at by both sides in Ukraine. Not going to be that easy to send stuff to Russia. Not many rail/road links between China and Russia. Sending anything by ship could be problematical.

Every day this war goes on, Putin digs himself and Russia in deeper and deeper. Xi may provide some support, but suggest he has noticed Putin has awakened a dozing NATO. Am sure Xi has noticed there are still plenty of US forces in the Pacific.

To restate a previous observation. should NATO countries start mobilizing reserves/National Guard/Territorials/etc., shit's going to get real between NATO and Russia.

Vlad, seriously, declare victory and leave. Your professional ancestors think you've embarrassed the Rodina by asking the Chinese for ANYTHING.
Is there any actual evidence of a request for Chinese support by Russia, or is this just Western lies made to make Vlad look like Xi's bitch?

It's probably inevitable anyway, but I'm just asking.

Ruins of Stalingrad, 1942

The Russians have the ability to replicate this in the 21st century but will they do it?
They are making a good go of it in Mariople. Silver lining though. All those commie blocks are getting leveled. Hopefully when this is over they get replaced with something more pleasing to the eye.

On the topic of China, Hu Xijin (Xi's unofficial spokesman, essentially) has commented on the idea of Chinese support. Rather milquetoast but there's a rather narrow line he has to walk here. Don't condemn the invasion, but don't cheerlead for Putin either. And DEFINITELY don't clamor for China to get involved. Beijing doesn't want anything to do with this shitshow.

Unironically this is a better take than most. It's already precarious as it is. No need to upset things more.

Have any actual Redditors gone. The only stories I've seen have been about actual exMilitary people going over.
Ex-military redditors that take selfies for everyone to see. Then go suprised Pikachu face when their barracks explode.
While I agree the Russo-Sino relationship is purely transactional, I don't really think the Communist party cares about their own people.
An oil for food program does solve China's potential starvation issues with a state that--before the war when such a deal would have been metted out--might have worked as a sword against the WEF. Sword turned out to be garbage (much like the one Tim Pool bought), but they still have a vassal state to feed them Putin burgers and thus able to wean themselves off of US food exports.

I'm really tired of the "muh evil Putler" rhetoric. He's a relatively ordinary Russian autocrat doing what almost anyone would have expected him to do in response to getting boxed into a corner. Yes, he is nasty, and yes, he is invading his neighbor to gobble up a chunk of the country. But you know what? The West has no leg whatsoever to stand on. Not only have we gone out of our way to shove our nose into his neighborhood for no real reason, but we've destroyed far more countries than he ever has, in pursuit of far stupider objectives.

And political assassinations? Have you already forgotten the our favorite Libyan leader of many spellings? At least Putin has fucking reasons when he kills someone.

Smart phones are a plague on this war. The US knew the invasion was started a day before it kicked off because Google Maps saw the traffic jams building up on the main highways into Ukraine.

I hope western militaries are taking notes. Don't let the grunts take their phones to a combat theater. They can leave that shit at the barracks.

I thought that was already policy among any military worth a salt?

So Russian fast food has caviar in it and makes you feel pride for your country with national iconography. But in America I just get a quarter inch piece of "meat" then lectured how I should feel bad for being white. Remind me why Russia are the bad guys again?

I would suggest nobody has any idea just what the fuck is going to happen.

Let's step back to 1914. The assassination of Franz Ferdinand and his wife was an international incident that ended up dragging just about all of Europe, Russia, Japan, and later the USA into a world war. Maybe the slide down that slippery slope could have been halted by cooler heads, maybe not. But millions of people died.

Like it or not, suggest some similarities and some differences. Here, neither Ukraine nor Russia are members of any treaty organizations or have mutual-aid treaties, unlike Germany and Austro-Hungary, and Great Britain and France. The challenge is to keep the war confined to Russia and Ukraine. This is hard and will only become more and more difficult as the Russians continue their attacks into Ukraine and capture certain cities.

The hard fact is Ukraine isn't a NATO member. Don't even think Ukraine has been designated an "major non-NATO ally", like Afghanistan was. Seriously. Hillary herself made that declaration when she was SecState. Almost puked when I heard it.

All of us have things about which we don't act or react rationally. Sometimes these things can be small, such as foods or clothes, sometimes kids. Suggest Putin isn't acting or reacting all that rationally about Ukraine. He wants that buffer state, and he wants to punish Ukraine for their sheer nerve in acting like a sovereign, independent state, and nothing else will do. Not the actions of a rational person; a weakness has been exposed. Our problem is Putin has a large nuclear arsenal. You like to think Putin wouldn't use nukes, but we also liked to think he wouldn't invade Ukraine. Russia simply cannot fight and win a conventional WWIII. So NATO stays behind the Polish border, providing support, and making sure this doesn't turn into a Third World War.

Supposedly shot in utah.
Casual transport or something else?
One semi, two Hummers. Nothing of note. Equipment moves all the time from place to place, base to base. We regularly run exercises to test logistics capabilities. Also regularly send troops/equipment for opposing forces training.
