don't know if it's the Russian psyche or just that they've had endless bad luck, or what, but Russia has been run by successive strong-man dictators for most of the last three hundred years.
@JosephStalin could give you a better run down than me, but the quick and dirty is.

It's a matter of geography, history, and scale/size, Russia has been exposed to invading forces from the west for much of its history, you don't have time to flirt with a form of democracy when you're always on the backfoot of invasion. Russia pushed far east for the sole purpose to make themselves unconquerable and secured.

Compare to Britain it is the opposite, being an isle nation you're more secure, compare its ideals of democracy and it's the freest compared to mainland Europes democracies, you can see it clearly in the courts of law.

It is all connected, ties into eachother.
It's off-topic. Biden isn't even mentioned. There's no discussion of the optics or implications whatever Ukraine updates you're posting have on Biden's administration. The last 4 pages are full of users just chatting about Russia's chances against Ukraine with little to no direct relation to Biden or even American politics.
Part of what turned the last megathread into a gigantic unmoderatable mess was people going way into the weeds on more general discussion unrelated to Joe Biden. Ride literally told people to split unrelated discussions into different threads when he deleted the thread.
Post your screencaps of Posobiec's account in either of the two existing threads we have to discuss the war in Ukraine, not here.

It sounds to me like you're just mad about Donald trump, and

To go with Lil' Ben's interview with Maher where he has star fucker eyes, the new RINO attempt to stop Trump in 2024 is at the bargaining stage, Hey Guize The Republican Party Was Always Trumpism!

What's interesting to see is as Pierre Delecto goes after Surf Mommy and calls her treasonous, even RINOs are realizing this is bad optics for a man who never went to war (but was pro draft), and his 5 sons never signed up either. Like everything Romney does he thinks he gets a win for being right about Russia a decade ago, only to get too wrapped up smelling his own farts.

When both sides of the Controlled Oppo get in a spat.

Okay.

"Call it Build Back Something. Anything. Whatever gets Congress to a yes"

"Biden should seize on Manchin’s willingness to support parts of his bolder agenda — and work with lawmakers to craft a bill that could pass. There should be opportunities to push beyond what Manchin has offered as a starting point, but the bottom line should be a bill that can become law, this year. The framework Manchin floated offers an opportunity to do a lot of good."

Looks like they're going to fuck this up again and we'll be going into autumn with no legislative win for Joe to wave around for midterms.

"Push beyond" lmao these fucks refuse to learn. Buried in BBB is a bunch of stuff republicans, and manchin, have near zero trouble with and they should have no problem lining then up and running them through Congress to give a string of successes, but no.

I actually listened to the Shapiro/Maher podcast yesterday while doing some yard work. The thing that struck me was that Maher seems like the kind of Democrat you could actually get along with.

He’s certainly to the left of me, but he’s not trying to troon out my kids, realizes that Communism is a pretty shitty system of governance and believes that free speech (not just popular speech) is pretty damned important. It’s not a high bar but he, unlike the modern Democrat party, passes it.

If he was representative of the modern left’s beliefs, we wouldn’t be in nearly as bad of shape as a country.

On to Mitten’s attack on Tulsi. I don’t know if there are chemical/biological weapons labs that are sponsored by the US in the Ukraine. Watching Rubio get blindsided by his questioning of Haines certainly makes me think something is there. That doesn’t excuse Russia’s invasion but we’re all adults here and we can understand that international relations and conflicts are complicated.

When I was about 4 years old I watching 60 minutes with my Grandfather when a video of Ayatollah Khomeini came on and my grandfather told me he was a bad guy. Now my 4 year old self didn’t understand Petrodollars, Islamic Fundamentalism or the 1952 western backed coup in Iran. I did understand He-Man so I said “Like Skeletor” to which he replied “Kinda like that”.

It seems like the media and the government want us to embrace a 4 year old’s understanding of the world. One side is as pure as the driven snow and one side is the living embodiment of evil. I am not operating under the illusion that Putin is a good guy and I don’t believe that Russia’s invasion is justified, however there’s probably some nuance here.

What I know is not to trust the news here. When the news is pushing a narrative that the motivations for a conflict are so cartoonishly simple that they could be the plot for a Filmation cartoon, something’s fucking wrong and it’s not news anymore but propaganda.

We know that we do shady shit in foreign labs and we know that the powers that be will try to silence discussion of them. It took Jon Stewart going on prime time television and ranting about the Wuhan lab before the lab leak theory was regarded as anything other than a conspiracy theory (who’s mere mention would get you banned from social media). Now it looks like C-19 was an engineered virus.

I’m old enough to remember how Iraq had weapons of Mass Destruction (as did Libya too, if I recall correctly). Turns out they didn’t, but again we painted the story as one side being the side of light and virtue and the other as being the forces of darkness and destruction.

I don’t think any of this Justifies Russia’s invasion, but to handwave away any allegation that casts your favored side in a negative light makes me think there is some fuckery is afoot.

As discussed many times before, it ain't gonna happen, and even if it did, it would be too late to have any positive effects on the midterms. The Dems are in too much conflict to actually come together and create a bill that all parties can agree on. The progs in the House are holding out until they get all their Green New Deal and other demands thrown in, while Manchin represents the more moderate faction in the Senate that wants to focus on actual infrastructure and somewhat more limited spending (not a lot more since this is the federal government we're talking about here, but less than what the greens want to spend). These two demands are fundamentally incompatible, and each faction has enough pull in their respective chamber to stall any proposed bill.

But even if they did manage to work out a compromise and pass something, anything, to show that Biden's not a lame duck, it'd be much too late. BBB was chock full of pork that needed to go to pay off debts incurred in the 2020 election, as well as refill coffers for similar efforts in 2022. But it takes time for that money to get to where it needs to, and there's simply not enough time before midterms for that to happen. On top of that, it also takes time for the public to notice the results of such a massive piece of legislation, so even if BBB passed right now in all its bloated glory, the administration couldn't effectively use it as advertising for midterms. Sure, you put this massive bill into law, but when there's no measurable difference between the times before and after, that's not really gonna resonate with voters as a reason to put you back into power, especially given all the other crises that have popped up since then.

At this point, it's just cope and seethe from the DNC. BBB is dead, Joe is a demented old coot, and his administration is easily one of the worst in US history. I'm not gonna be blindly optimistic given how many snakes are on the other side of the aisle, but if the midterms do end up being a bloodbath, I'm gonna enjoy some delicious schadenfreude.

>Chinese foreign ministry claims the US' responses are "self-contradictory and confusing
>When even fucking CHINA, the country who's dick you're sucking so hard, tells you that you're fucking retarded

oh lawdy lawd I am a laughing!
Not only that but China is known for being full of shit when it comes to any public statements, so it's pretty bad when even they don't buy our malarkey.

I'm hoping it's a bloodbath because a) wonderful salt will be mined, and b) losing Congress will bring the knives out in the intra-party civil war and force them to find new leadership in a move that's been desperately needed since they got rocked back in 2010.

It's important to remember that we have the same bioweapon -- yes, Bioweapon, "Gain of Function Research" is a weasel-word way of saying Bioweapon -- labs in China as we have in the Ukraine. Specifically Wuhan, where Chinese fuckwits (but I repeat myself) let the goddamned bioweapon out.

So China absolutely knows the score. They're doing this intentionally to make the Biden admin squirm and give Putin a life preserver.

More importantly, it's looking like the Admin is at least a little worried that something might be released due to the conflict. Worst case scenario, they were planning on intentionally releasing something and blaming Russia. So this is China directly tripping us up as we lay down the narrative framework for that on an international stage.

I know that the Uniparty has had it on easymode for the past 10-20 years, if not a lot longer (40+), but it should be amusing to see what happens when they just can't mute an entire global bloc. Yeah no one listened to Russia at the UN, but China pulling a Columbo and going "just one more question about those labs" might just turn a few heads. Hell they already threatened India for not clapping for the US loud enough in the past few weeks.

I fully expect China to come out and say that covid escaped from one of these biolabs just to drive in the knife deeper. Not like the US can say anything to counter that. Shenzhen went in lockdown again so it'd be good timing. Stoke the flames of anti-west sentiment in case of any sanctions.

China is never going to perform the own-goal of admitting their lax security or incompetence is responsible for the pandemic happening. This is the government who spent most of 2021 having their bureaucrats screech at any western politicians who implied as much, put sanctions on the countries involved, and invented a whole conspiracy theory that it was a US military project deliberately seeded on the Chinese populace (but didn't call it an act of war).

This is going beyond "one screen, two movies" and into "I reject your reality and substitute my own" territory.

My question is, do they actually think they're able to fool anyone with these blatant lies, or is this just desperate coping to try and reassure their base that everything is fine?
