Yeltsin-era oligarchs (Gusinsky, Berezovskiy, Khodorkovskyi...) are different than Putin-era ones (Sechin, Rotenberg, Kostin...) who got into their positions in 2000s. Latter are not even "oligarchs" per se, because their power stems from Putin and not from their wealth.

It's all a show. Zelenskyy is running a three ring circus in the media to keep pressure on waffling western governments and rally the moral of his country. And he's proving exceedingly good at it. Nothing concrete will come of it, but that is not really what he is trying to do. Every day he's out there doing his song and dance routine is another day Russia has failed to win. And that in the end is a win for Ukraine.

Russias victory condition is overthrowing Zelenskyy. Ukraines victory condition is avoiding that outcome.
