Why is is complaining about Strangers of paradise release date?

Because game studios should release games in such a way that are most convenient for him. Which means major games should all be evenly spaced out thought-out the year for day 1 views. Now you might be thinking it makes no sense for gaming studios to base their major decisions on .0000001% of their consumer base, but thats because you dont have a business degree.

He read that Strangers of Paradise Final Fantasy is a mixed bag game from those shill reviewers that you shouldn't listen to but he's listening to them now that it's bad, an internet meme game, just a Nioh clone, has bad level design so he's decided to skip it. Yet another game that he's gonna skip when there's fucking nothing coming out in the next few months. Then again, with the pace he's playing Porken Rind and Skyrim the war in Ukraine is gonna end before he's done with those two.

exactly, a tiny bit of humility would be good for phil though I think he's far too gone to start now. Which is odd, around when Gulity Gear Strive was coming out he said he didn't want to play it cause he wasn't familiar with the game and didn't have time to "git gud" which, thats fair.

Yet, since then he's tossed all that away into immediately crapping on everything because, it's like the more he wants to distance himself from the king of hate the more toxic and obnoxiously contrarian he becomes.

Nobody really doubts his competence at games; if I were to gauge his ability as a gamer he is about average when compared to most people who play as a hobby and slightly above when it comes to broadcasters (some streamers' entire gimmick revolves around how shit they are at games and Phil is demonstrably better than them.)

No, where people put forth the idea that he is bad at games is his failure to adapt and cycle of falling into pattern play. He may be able to beat the garden variety scrub at Street Fighter, but if he goes against anyone who has spent a few weeks learning how to play properly he gets destroyed; reason he hates playing against people like Gojitenks so much is because they can read him like a book and he fails to adapt to their tactics. He complains constantly about his opponents winning by doing the same thing...yeah, because he refuses to adapt to it so it consistently fucking works. This is also why he despises mechanical simplicity. If you simplify the mechanics, it lowers the skill floor but it allows people to learn the fundamentals of fighting games easier as opposed to focusing so much on proper input.

This can be said for Soulsborne games as well. He never changes his strategy and just prefers to overlevel content until he wins.

The reason people shit on him for being bad is because he still thinks he's incredibly skilled when the evidence shows that he is average at best. This is true even in fighting games. Given a few sessions with a coach, anyone would be able to wipe the floor with him in any fighting game.

I was looking into this recently and the Ask the King episode this appeared in was conspicuously missing.

An easy misconception to have about Phil is that he never deletes anything because he has thousands of hours of himself being a completely moronic asshole uploaded.

He actually does delete things to hide them sometimes though.

If you go to his main channel and load up his 'Pre-stream' playlist you can see quite a few entries where he deleted the video.

thats what I read way back in the thread when I wondered how he beat the game but didn't know basic things about the game.

So, he explains the lore of Elden Ring and as a shock to no one gets it wrong. Why are you like this phil? Thats not the first elden lord under Stromveil. It's his son.

EDIT - can't cheese the bell hunter and now the game is stupid and how dare they expect you to be prepared to fight a hard boss, wtf they expect you to have a substantial health pool above lvl 50. The walls, the trees, the camera, spamming not working. He can't find his runes claiming the game stole them.

The game is dumb cause he didn't put anything in vitality or use better armor.

Credit where credit is due while he did complain about not being able to cheese the boss and how much damage it does he did start dodging, but black baby jesus the game pushes back just a little and this biy just crumbles into a coping crying whiney mess

He was getting repeatedly dry-fucked by a boss while using his big sword instead of that OP halberd he's got, and he explicitly said that in doing so it was providing a challenge (a motif of this playthrough has been chat complaining about Phil's use of this weapon to hack down bosses in the most boring way possible).

Not five minutes (and a few deaths) later, he switched to the halberd, without saying a word. Just fucking stood there and did it, a sort of silent challenge to his audience to bring him up on it. Of course, the thing does such ludicrous damage that he soon tanked through the boss.

I don't think it's appropriate to call him "average" when all the most accurate depictions of his competence are found in the TIHYDPs from before he started having the chat/guides carry his ass, or center on games that they can't help him through. I don't care if you manage to beat DKC2, you're not an average gamer if you relied upon save states and died over two hundred times.

Phil has a shitty attitude, but it only makes things worse, it doesn't get the bad times started for him. Stupidity does that.

See it's stuff like that getting documented that's more important at this point than savoring the few times he gets rekt. Being the Worst Gamer Ever is over and done with, cementing Phil as the Worst Streamer Ever is the next step. Fortunately, he's all too willing to help us there, because the alternative, he would rather die than pursue.

The only thing that provokes a similar reaction out of him are racing games (and mainly ones that don't let him rewind his fuck ups) largely due to how much of it relies on in the moment decisions over preparation and knowing strategies.
