When Chad fought Libya in the 80's it was at a time when Libya's logistics chain was horrendously long and Libya had a very small and poorly educated populace which meant a small and poorly trained army.

Being mobile in a technical that didn't require as much maintenance and fuel as Libyan armor was great for Chad.

That doesn't apply here, because the Ukies don't have air superiority.
