It's really strange to see the President of a country who has the majority of his soldiers surrounded facing annihilation or surrender telling the other side to give up and surrender. I think you're thinking in terms of what you want to be true, VS what is most likely true. Rations are really not that hard to mass-produce, and even if there was a shortage, they'd just send canned food out to the front to supplement any shortage. They've likely asked suppliers not to sell MREs on the civilian market and to instead stockpile them in case a war does kick off with the US which would mean all of the production facilities would get JADAMed. Likewise, Russia hasn't even deployed the majority of its military so it's not like they're running on fumes and are desperate to take anything they can. Additionally, the only logistical problems that we know for a fact they've had have been in actually getting shit to where it needs to go. Getting more supplies from China wouldn't help with this, since they'd just be stuck too if it was that bad unless China directly delivered them to the front lines where they are needed.

Idk, I'd think they could hold out for at least a month even if the cities they're holding on the fronts are taken in the next couple of days. Russia will still have to reconsolidate its forces after the sieges are over in preparation to move on to its next objectives. Urban combat takes a long ass time because pretty much every room of every building that hasn't just been leveled has to be cleared.
