General Discussion for Virtual Youtubers / Vtubers / Chuubas - it's okay to be a simp for 2D, just don't thirstpost.

Vtubing as it is now is in a odd place in terms of public perception. Half of various content creators are for it and typically interact and try to be on friendly terms with various Vtubers while another half of content creators aren't accepting and it's either due to some dumb principle or belief like "Loli bad", thinking it's cringe cause anime, or having some weird outdated internet ideas that their not woman and just trying to deceive you/it's a ugly person just catfishing people.

I wonder how much of this has to do with the fact that French people are just unlikable cunts that seem to have an attitude problem with the rest of the world. I don't really watch her and to be honest, it seems like a lot of overreacting from the people that got DQd from the contest but I really enjoy her art.

Tbh that's something that I've noticed with Calli, she'll tell an edgy joke or poke fun at chat sometimes and then immediately walk it back with an almost grovelly "haha just joking guys you know I love you please don't be upset". She has worked hard to get here and while the whole idea of being an "idol" vtuber probably disgusted her at the start she noticed that she has access to a ton of other creators she can network with. She also knows that this is a golden ticket and in no other world would she be making bank the way she is. So every time she realizes that anything she said might be taken in the wrong way she will backtrack as to try to not offend anyone. It's about being smart and trying to piss the least amount of people. I love DDK's music but lets be honest if it wasn't for Holo, the vast majority of her following wouldn't be there and she would still have less than 150k subs.

I don't think anyone posted this info that is a few hours old in this thread but apparently Ame found a way to use VR Chat to sync karaoke streams. If it works properly, this could lead to karaoke collabs in the future. There may be one with Gura and Kiara in about a month. Bless you chicken for always spilling info early lol.

Solution seems to be: Watch a youtube video in VR together, start singing, adjust the latency as needed, the other person's mic get muted to prevent confusion cus they're not actually in sync, a third person/camera captures both streams and is somehow the only one who gets the audio in sync. I'm not sure how you'd solve unexpected lag and latency.

Something similar was tried before back in 2020, we'll see if Ame's solution is less janky.
