If you are a woman and do not want to get pregnant or have children, fine. Nobody is forcing you to do so, and I think that vasectomies/tubal ligations should be given free of charge.

Incision placement is one of the first considerations. Scarring can't be eliminated but if you can put it in a less noticeable place you're setting yourself up for success.

Can attest to this. My surgeon (not a plastic surgeon) explained how my scar would drop down into the fold of my neck in time and took great care to do it neatly. I had internal sutures and this wire thing that they pulled out after a week. You can hardly see it now.

I feel FTM is heavily trend-driven. Folks go that way because they see it online, hear about it from friends, listen to discussions about it in media, and admire all the attention it brings. Few teen girls, and even many much older than that, want to be bland and basic. I see many similarities to munchies in this, only in the trans case there's the added questioning about sexuality and appearance. There's also social pressure involved. Gender roles have come roaring back, only now the demands to conform are coming from a different direction - a girl who isn't feminine must be a boy in denial, just like a boy who loves feminine things must be a secret girl.
