i think that there's absolutely no way china is going to take military action against russia. chinks kow about russian nukes just like nato does.
what i do think is that russia being cut off from western trade makes it extremely dependent on china for trade, and china will abuse that situation by squeezing russia hard. don't need to invade siberian oil fields when you can just make the russians give you the oil and gas for super cheap because you're the only country that's still buying from them.

By Light Arms I mainly mean Infantry Portable Arms. Stuff that is way cheaper to produce and distribute than a tank. The most damage to the Russian forces seems to largely be coming from small unit infantry employing ambush tactics in their own backyards.

As far as China invading Siberia. There is a difference between buying it from someone else, no matter how cheap. And having energy independence within your own borders. That’s the other thing that has to be spooking the Chinese a little bit. Just how quickly Russia went from “most favored nation trading status and member of the global finance network” to “ North Korea”. Their calculus before making any moves towards Taiwan now might involve a greater degree of energy independence. That is what crippled the Japanese Invasion of China after all. And for China the only paths to Energy independence lie south to the Malaysian oil fields, repeating Japans move. Which would involve a sea war. Or north to Siberia. Which would be a land war against a current pariah state that is rapidly expending its professional active duty army and equipment in an I’ll advised invasion in Europe. Leaving a badly led force of reservists guarding the East. Granted it is not a guaranteed win. The Russian Reservists might have sticks and stones.

I'm not certain about either of those tbh. Chinese vassal state would be for a rather short period of time, if it even happened. There's plenty of bad history there, and Putin's Russia getting along with them is a bit of an anomaly that won't last. Same thing happened in the 60s with the sino soviet split.

As to Russia collapsing in on itself because vlad died? I don't think it's likely. Russia historically handles strongman transitions of power decently well, at least compared to most other countries with em.
