Yugo announced he is taking a one week hiatus as a result of criticism for his handling of the earthquake stream.

I was extremely vexed by this so I had to do some Yugo egosurfing to figure out what people were saying. It seems some Japanese didn't like the fact that Yugo's tone wasn't serious enough, and that he was laughing at some things chat was saying (even though none of it pertained to the earthquake).

Others, however, have criticised the critics, stating that Yugo translating swathes of information into English has invaluably helped/saved/prepared Japan-based foreign nationals who are not accustomed to natural disasters and didn't grow up with mitigation training.

Overall, though, there wasn't exactly a 'backlash'. None of the comments I read on either side were malignant, and there wasn't all that many of them.

That's definitely mainland chinks doing this there. Little Pink/Pink Maggot is the insult used by the Chinese (mainland and not) to call the Mainland nationalist

Unsure if they've been brought up here before but if you guys like the holoDuck and wanna see full series translations (split into chapters)
I highly recommend Taiyou Budikara

They did a bit of Subaru's Assassin's Creed gameplay and are currently finishing up their full Detroit series and Undertale series before retiring from translating.
I don't see dedicated Subaru clippers that much and full-stream translators in general so it's pretty neat to be able to understand side commentary for once.

If your country is facing an existential crisis at the hands of a nation that enslaved yours for centuries and in still living memory tried to genocide your grandparents through starvation, then who the fuck cares about a couple hundred half assed Nazis throwing themselves at the Russians. That dumb little tankie Vtuber has no idea what's at stake. She's literally living in a country that only offered token apologies for their own imperialistic ambitions.
