For the record hipsters hate Kant because they think Kant condones slavery, which presumably makes nonsense of his Categorical Imperative. But Kant was very clear that slavery was a necessary evil of the times, something to be abolished in what he called the Kingdom of Ends (where every person treats each other as ends rather than means. You can call it Kingdom of God in secular garb.) Kant also believed in what today is called "Racial Realism", which is presumably Rhys's contention, but Racial Realism was totally in accord to the thinking of his time. Racial Realism might even be objectively true.
I think what Rhys describes is called "appeal to authority", not "Deflationism"
Fortunately Rhys deigns to educates us.
So according to Rhys's understanding of Epistemic Deflationism, truth has no relation to the objective world.

he has no idea how to structure an academic argument, he doesn't justify why he's using deflationism, what it's advantages over other methodologies are (we know it's because rhys can use it to say what he wants), any flaws in the methodology. He doesn't engage with other arguments at all, let alone refute them, he doesn't discuss the potential implications of his argument for the field at large and he doesn't even acknowledge that as a transwoman himself, he has a vested interest in getting the answer he wants, never mind what he did to minimise the effect of that bias
If this was written up into an essay, it'd struggle to earn the 40% lowest passing grade in first year

I love how he lays out his argument for "transwomen are women" by saying they are "medically" women. No retard, just because a physician or other healthcare professional has you listed as "female" in a chart does not mean that you are "medically" a woman. It means that you fucking people screech so much that you've made medical professionals acquiesce to listing you as women even though all it takes is one look at a PET scan that shows that you have a prostate and don't have a uterus or ovaries or any other female anatomy to tell exactly what you are, which in your case is a man with no dick.
Hell, what am I saying, all it takes is one look at your jut-jawed face to tell that you're a man and always will be.
Seriously, this fucking guy has a doctorate in Philosophy? The whole basic premise of his argument is so nonsensical that anyone over the age of eight could rip it apart at the seams without even trying. Ironically, his former department head Krasnoff said the exact same thing in his performance evaluation, and Troony McTroonface threw an absolute fit. He didn't seem to care much that the same evaluation basically said that he was shirking all of his responsibilities outside of teaching two sections of intro Philosophy per semester, what really got him in a twist was Krasnoff pointing out the glaring logical inconsistencies in his argument that "transwomen are women."

I think if your boss comes to work and says "gay people are immoral and shouldn't be allowed to work here", then that shouldn't be allowed since your boss would clearly not be making unbiased decisions about gay people which would affect their employment. But just believing that someone is doing something immoral, what's the problem? Obviously if a person is going around telling everyone "you're immoral and going to hell" every day, then yeah, that makes for a hostile work environment. But expressing your belief? Nah. The most ridiculous part about this whole drama is that Forstater wasn't even stating a 'belief'. It's just true that trans women are biologically male. They want her to not be allowed to state the truth about the world which is truly worrying.
