General Discussion for Virtual Youtubers / Vtubers / Chuubas - it's okay to be a simp for 2D, just don't thirstpost.

Welp, I suppose it was only a matter of time.

It's just kind of how it is for her until she does her reps and learns Japanese like she said she would. It goes without saying that you have more opportunities the more languages you can speak.

Edit: Selen is a Pred player in V-Saikyo, which counts lifetime highest rank, so it's even worse for her. CR Cup again might be more lenient on that and let her be a Master.
Wasn't her Pred in some super early season? Seems a bit unfair to count it when that much time has passed.

Also, whether she said it or not, is there any record of a corpo Vtuber successfully learning a new language during their existence? Learning a language takes a lot of time, effort and consistency, something that corpo Vtubers often can't afford with how busy their schedules are. This probably won't be a shocking pro tip that shakes the foundations of philology, but you're not gonna learn a language with two Duolingo reps and a glance at Genki. Wouldn't it be better for her to primarily study JP Apex calls, then test herself with a collab with whoever would be willing?

Can't quote @Scuttle big recap of the Apex tournament

I can already feel the emotional damge of having to listen clips of Aqua crying if her solo ranking fail to translate to the tournament score
Can't reply to his post either. Aqua's 10 point cost is crazy! I love Suisei being there, cause she has good rapport with the NEET onion, but a n00b like Aqua in a tournament setting shouldn't have a punishing cost. Matsuri's a master too and only cost 8 points. I hope the onion wins out tho!

Yes but they count lifetime highest rank in V-Saikyo, which means Selen is Pred in V-Saikyo. She's also Pred in RIG. Not sure about CR.

The V-Tuber industry in general is too young but no. Coincidentally, though, Reimu says she only started learning Japanese like 3 years ago so you could says that she learned a language whilst she was streaming and making music. Not quite the same, but still doable.

Selen DID have a personal tutor for a few weeks but her schedule got packed and she has trouble not overexerting. She's already said that she plans to go back to it when things calm down.

I somewhat agree, but a total unknown coming in and calling themselves a Master is going to set off alarm bells in any organiser trying to balance his competition out. If Towa presents the team and Hal says 'OK but Aqua is 10pts because r/Holo say she's the best APEX player behind Ame', it falls on Towa to decide if she believes Aqua is worth the cost and evidently that is the case.

@Svarog, your opsec is lacking if a 2view vtuber from japan can find your posts on the farms prasing her MMDs :tomgirl:fI
If I had a nickel for every time opsec was broken by brony people in this thread, I'd have two nickels - which isn't a lot, but it's weird that it happened twice.

She's either going to weigh her team down like an anchor or solo carry it. No disrespect to Towa and Suisei, of course, but Aqua is "special".

"Best APEX player behind Ame?" in what universe? Ame is somewhat alright at Apex, but she's not the best APEX player in any universe, well, let me strike that a bit. She's the best HoloEN Apex player but that's mainly because almost none of the other girls have played APEX on stream. (And if Hal is listening to what r/holo says when weighing the talents he's a fucking idiot.)

Just catching up on the Calli announcement VOD this morning. Re: her full length album, looking forward to the tracks by Pretty Patterns and Herb Shop (Boogie Voxx being featured is a nice bonus).

Also this juicy tidbit about the "Ouroboros" track (timestamped):

"...and finally, something else that I wanna point out about this song and that there's some lyrics in here that has some strong hints as to my future and where I'm going from here. Uhmm... there's a lot and I wanna go more into it once said things have come into <...> if you analyze it yourselves you might be able to kind of figure it out - I'm not gonna talk about it though until said future becomes more transparent for you guys..."

FIRE UP YOUR RRATS!

(Also, the bitch is aware of all your doomposting and is clearly baiting most of y'all at this point. Though to be fair, she also emphatically states that graduation isn't in any way involved a minute later.)
So what are your actual rrats on calli's future that arent a graduation: Concert in budokan? a collab with Snoop Dogg or Charlie? or what?

Im not care about it (same level as Nolan or more i think). I live in such a shithole territorially and have been in such a difficult life situation for the past years that anonymity is the last thing I care about.
Btw better all watch new shitpost song about Horny Fish

Less special in a tournament like this, mind you. But yes, there's a lot of risk in her being part of the team where she is not only the best player, but also inexperienced.

As mentioned, every team will get a pro coach to guide them, but seeing people get weighed down by teammates is normal in a game where a team is only as strong as the weakest member. People crying in scrims due to feelings of their performance is far from unheard of. Selen played APEX for 6 straight hours after her OTK tournament to work out her anger.

I don't watch Aqua, but this is going to require more mental fortitude than finishing 2nd in a dumb MK8 tournament. A lot more.

I'm just poking fun at how r/Holo glorified Ame around the time of her debut. People saying 'Aqua, Ame and Ollie would be super strong in CR Cup' were not few and not saying it ironically.

Matsuri has been on a pretty good menhera redemption arc, I wonder how or why it happened. I 'd say she saw what happened to Rushia but she made up with haachama before that
Safe to say it was most likely Mio's Tarot Reading. She started doing a lot more stuff with Fubuki again after that and the whole Haachama forgiveness stuff as well. If only she could steal Luna away from the Duck, but I don't see that happening as long as she's hung up on Hoshikawa.

TLDW: The main takeaway in this context is Matsuri basically being worried about being disliked by her friends and colleagues and Mio saying "the cards" say that she underestimates how they actually view her and that they all care about her a lot. But the video is worth watching though.
