Sam S - No qualifications

Sam (“she/her”) is a transgender woman from London, United Kingdom. She has no formal medical or research qualifications, but has an intense interest in evidence-based medicine and adherence to the scientific method and has contributed several articles on the subject of transfeminine hormone therapy to Transfeminine Science. Her major research interests include the relatively uncommon to rare adverse effects of hormone therapy in transfeminine people, such as thromboembolism and other cardiovascular diseases. Specifically, she is interested in how the safety of different gender-affirming hormone therapy medications and dosages might compare. Sam has been reading and keeping up to date with the formal medical literature since she began to hormonally transition in 2018.

Mitzi frequently navigates situations that involve transgender homelessness, domestic violence, healthcare discrimination, and substance use both online and locally, and has held advisory roles for a variety of small grassroots organizations, such as Trans Healthcare Network and Gender Construction Kit.

Mitzi has a broad interest in medical academia, with a particular passion for endocrinology and psychopharmacology. She is an outspoken critic of her country’s transgender healthcare system, and has self-medicated for the duration of her own transition.

I've only glanced at the abstract of their Puberty Blockers article which extols their "significant benefit" and "relatively minor risks" so it's probably biased as hell:

Puberty blockers are medications used to pause puberty in both cisgender and transgender youth. For the latter, significant evidence suggests that they improve well-being, psychological functioning, and risk of suicidality, both during puberty and in later life. Their effects are reversible upon discontinuation. Current evidence does not suggest any negative impact on cognitive development, IQ, or fertility. A minor impact on bone density may exist, affecting primarily transgender girls, but little high quality data is available. Fairly or unfairly, much of this just women fighting other women. It’s going to take some high profile men speaking up to shut this down so that the other male fencesitters and doubters feel safe to speak up. I actually finally feel like I "got" the whole MtF trannies wanting to do sports against women, even sports that are considered manly, like weightlifting. Part of me would think a MtF would avoid any kind of physical activity, as you'll even hear *actual* women who are gymnasts, swimmers, etc., who feel self-conscious about their arms or lats, or think their musculature makes them less feminine. So why would someone who fetishizes being a woman go out of their way to try to win athletic competitions?


Like why would someone who is trying to be a woman go out of his way to lift heavy weights all the time?
Then it hit me: trannies know they will never be real women. And they hate real women for that. But sports is one area where they can be "compete" with women and win.

I think in their minds, they're literally thinking they are succeeding at being a woman when they win a women's competition. "I'm literally a better woman swimmer than all these women. I'm beating them at their own game!" Athletics is basically the only area in which they can beat cis women at something... but of course the irony is that men can do that already, so it's not evidence of their femininity, or that they are succeeding "as a woman," but that's how I think they see it in their own warped brains.

It's a really bad situation, but I also feel like there has to be a stand taken eventually.
