So I've just come across this chick on tiktok
Her whole personality is her EDS / disability may be worth keeping an eye on.

Not sure if munchie, but 100% attention whore and gives off giant red flag vibes.

Goes by Chr0nicallycute

Anyone else come across her? Opinions and thoughts would be appreciated

I'd say anyone with "chronically" in their username is a munchie. 100%. Carry on.

I don’t think she’s claiming to have any or all of those diseases, she’s just giving them a shout out. Truly bizarre to include a cannibalism-induced disease though. Maybe she plagiarised a list of rare diseases without thinking.
Yeah it sounds like she pulled it from some kind of list of cool rare diseases. Actually I found one list with four of them, so...

Kuru's extinct, as has been pointed out. Methemoglobinemia probably refers to the Blue Fugates of Kentucky, who had a recessive gene that caused constant low-level MetHb so they had blue skin. That one's also extinct AFAIK. Then there's RPID, which has had four reported cases. Ever.

Thanks for all you do, Victoria. I hope all those dead people and those four people with RPID enjoyed your shout out.

chelsea got her long awaited j-tube surgery that she's been posting about with excitement for the last several days.
And surprise, surprise, she's already having complications. But she made a video, so
Its a wonder how Stiffy found the gumption to press record, let alone audition piano instrumental tracks until she could find the most emotionally leveraging one. I've been worried about Minnesota Fashion Week Fats.

I will say this, at least Chelsea isn’t afraid to commit to the bit. There was absolutely nothing wrong with her a few years ago. She was healthy, decently good looking, and seemed to have some things going for her. Now she’s getting herself hollowed out piece by piece all while talking like a sped and holding down the dollar store Elton John look. A true munchie. I stan.

Think I found another one in the media - isn't chronic fatigue a psychosomatic illness? Doesn't that mean therapy can cure it, it's not in your body?
It's complicated. CFS is a wastebasket diagnosis, which means if you have any sort of serious fatigue disorder and the usual suspects are all ruled out, you get the label CFS. Some people who have chronic fatigue that none of the usual suspects apply to have psychosomatic illnesses, while some of them have physiological ones, and the line between the two of those isn't always thick in the first place -- many of the people colloquially called munchies are sick, just not as sick as they think they are.

It's relatively common for people to develop long-term health issues of the fatigue, sensitivity, etc cluster after a viral infection. For the past couple years, this has gotten a lot of attention as "long covid". The psychosomatic/physiologic lines here are very ambiguous and probably won't be settled for a long, long time.

Psychosomatic chronic illness isn't necessarily easier to treat than physiological illness. Even once you've identified something as such in the relatively few cases where you can clearly distinguish the two (e.g. psychogenic seizures vs epilepsy), there's a huge range of treatments and a huge variation in how likely those treatments are to succeed. Even for something as relatively clear-cut as PNES, the reasons people develop it, the ways to treat it, and the success of treatment drastically vary. Something like CFS, which is literally hundreds or thousands of possible conditions where we can't tell apart where any given one is on the psychosomatic to physiologic scale? It's hard.

Plus you'll never get patients on your side because they'll hiss and make the sign of the cross the second you start talking about conversion disorder.

There's shit out there like psychogenic blindness. I know very well how powerful the mind can be. Patients will have none of it though because they accuse you of gaslighting or medical neglect if you don't fully investigate an organic cause of whatever the hell's going on with them. Oh well.

I think this is largely because of wider stigma. The simple fact that "mental" and "physical" illnesses are divided so drastically is part of it. Many mental illnesses are physical illnesses located the brain. Despite being the most complex organ in the body, this somehow puts them on a lesser category in the perspective of the majority of the planet.
On top of that, the majority of the population views mental illness or psychogenic issues as self induced, meaning they are basically seen as liars behaving like munchies. To get that psychogenic diagnosis then means their symptoms aren't happening, even if somatic symptoms can be very real to the patient. I can see why an average/reasonable person would then reject that diagnosis, because to them "I am truly experiencing this" fundamentally means it can't be psychogenic because it is poorly understood.

I think there's a secondary factor that explains other cases that's less reasonable. Many just plain see ANYTHING fixable via personal/lifestyle changes as a personal insult because it makes them responsible. This is why HAES exists even when the majority of the planet knows obesity leads to a long list of real symptoms and problems. If it isn't solved with an outside procedure, pill, or intervention, they see it a personal indictment, and they can't take personal responsibility. Some people might reject psychogenic illness just because it means working on oneself to improve, and certain types will never have that.
How many munchies have severe personality disorders a they ignore or leave untreated because accepting that means they are responsible for it and need to put work into improving? I don't think they can be excused stigma or reasonable misunderstanding, they just want that victim chic at all costs.

I learned about Morgellons from watching UFO documentaries, apparently it's a potential result of alien abduction. <insert eye roll here> Didn't know it was a munchie thing, too till I started reading this thread.

Maybe munchies are actually alien abductees and that's where all their illnesses come from? Imagine adding "alien abductee" to their munchie resume? I bet that would up their cred quite a bit!

DONT GIVE THEM IDEAS

You know what's awesome? Context
Well it's a huge fucking rabbit hole but here it goes.

I made a thread but it sucked. Might remake eventually if I have time. I despise her personally, but I think her story is an interesting case study on all the ways someone can fail at life because of too much privilege.

Once upon a time about 1 decade ago a trainwreck called Katherine Slyfield aka CBC joined a LGBTQWERTYZXY+ community called asexuality.org. She thought she was asexual because 'tism and mental illness. It's hard to tell how many of her illnesses are real besides from the obvious BPD and all the issues caused by anorexia and bulimia since she was 14, but she complains about her many illnesses constantly. She is a high school drop out, never had a job, barely leaves the house, and relies on her closet faggot ex husband to take care of her, even though he has (or had) a wife or gf. And she is an absolute cunt and easily one of the most vile, sociopathic people I've ever met. I think she was born that way and it has nothing to do with her supposed health issues.

Telecaster68 is an old english faggot (do you see a pattern?) called James Kenneth Walker, a shitty journalist and failed writer who lectures at the Nottingham-Trent University. She believes his real name is "Matt" and that he has a beard (his wife, possibly). He joined asexuality.org circa 2015 because he convinced himself his wife was asexual, as she didn't want to fuck his STD-ridden alcoholic ass, but eventually realized she just didn't want to fuck him in particular. He has erectile dysfunction and likes to take pictures of toilets and post them on his Twitter (@thespacelathe). He also has some strange friends (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/David_Belbin). Nottingham is one weird fucking place.

She firmly believes he will fly to Canada next summer. She is reaching her 40s so she might not have long left and her insanity keeps getting worse. I'm waiting and observing the impending implosion.

I'm happy just talking and archiving this stuff, I don't want to contact them and I'd rather no one else did either. They don't need any help fucking up their lives further.

EDIT: Speaking of beards, James can't grow one. All he can grow is this pathetic neck peach-fuzz.

Homie has a bit of an adolescent sexuality thing, yeah?

Fuck, even with the context this is a fucky mess and I'm sold on it already.

I'm glad to share the milk. This js a very funny cow. I checkup on her every now and then to see if she is still alive and every time I do I am greeted with fresh insanity.

As for Telecuck I suspect he has some mild form of autism.

The context of this one was that her landlord pressured her into leaving from what I understand. She also made a post about sexting James from the plane while wanking in the plane restroom. I will see if I can find it.

Edit: I'm taking a shit right now and I had the greatest fucking idea. How about a crowdfund to pay for Ceebs trip to the UK?

Does anyone who followed the Florida/Disney dog people know what happened to HelperDogNala? She was the one who had a golden retriever and a loudly colored poodle and a history of antics with the service dog girl club.

I happened to glance at their accounts and noticed that she hasn’t posted since December of last year. The sudden complete inactivity seems concerning.

I’m pretty certain she’s posted on stories more recently than that, within the past month or two. I think she was complaining about something as usual. Sorry I can’t remember more.

The list of transmissible spongiform encephalopathies ?

Probably, or she more likely just searched the more basic 'prion disease' or something.

I have to admit, you can't get much more peak rare disease than a disease only found in the Fore tribe in Papua New Guinea due to the ingestion of infected human remains as a funeral rite and no longer exists because it died out since the practice was stopped and the last survivors died.

Was she the one who went with Chronically Jaquie to do mall training? Side note congrats to Judd for his engagement and seemingly normal non-munch life. Janiece and Paul have been quiet this month too..
