Biden, like most congress critters, was a useless paper pusher when he was younger too. These people don't have the mentality of "get things done." It's all performative all talk and no do.

The fact that it's likely to be Trump v. Biden('s smoldering remains), just goes to show how bad it is for the GOP (the bench there is stronger, but there are no /ourguys/). Add in Biden, and it's just total condemnation of the institution.

Also, please neck me. I sound like an über centrist, and that can't work.

I see this a lot and I have to disagree. Woke went into turbo mode after 08 with all the ammo that gave to anyone with a axe to grind against capitalism.
Anything that happens next with petrodollar, worsening economy etc is going to be leveraged by the people behind the woke ie the crony capitalists.
We'll get a New Deal 2.0 with the vast majority hoovered up in corporate subsidies for job programs etc with enough crumbs finding their way to the woke to keep them banging the drum for more and more government intervention.

If we must have gibs why not gib to the American worker at the same time. Africa needs ploughshares? Ok billy bob here's a subsidized job to make plough shares. And seeds, and irrigation equipment, and desalination plants, and geothermal etc etc

But you need adults in charge for that to work though because you can't uplift animals in a single generation. Which is why we got people being paid six figures to teach Afghanis about modern art. Start with teaching them to subsistence farming sustainably first since they've apparently forgotten them bootstrap industry in a few decades time.

Paid $5.54 on base Thursday to fill up. Most grateful we don't drive much, car is good on gas.

One possible saving grace in this gasoline situation - cars today are far more fuel-efficient than during the first oil shock in 1973. Back then, most American-made cars/pickup trucks had V-8 engines, of varying size. Relatively few vehicles had six-cylinder engines, and even fewer came with fours. Can only remember the Pinto, Vega, and some Chevrolet Novas. No electric cars. Now it's basically the other way around. Very few American-made cars/pickup trucks come with V-8's, now mostly sixes and fours, and electric cars are taking off. Flip side is there are more vehicles on the road than in 1973.

Yup, woke is just turbo gay communism, when times are good they say capitalism is oppressing the people, when times are shit they blame someone else, they'll blame Russia for the rising costs of everything. Just like Venezuela blames the US for everything.
