Diseased #Comicsgate - The Culture Wars Hit The Funny Books!

From @FROG 's stream last night with TUG, YellowFlash, and @Spectre_06

View attachment 3080390
It begins.
TUG starts getting strong with Spectre. YellowFlash intuitively and quite honorably pulls back his friend TUG and leaps onto the retard grenade himself, only to be immediately vaporized in the blast with his friend still in imminent danger of becoming a hothead.

It continues.

"There ya go." It sounds like you were initially convinced here, Ethan. Maybe just a little?

TUG starts hotter. Spectree squirms.
TUG: "You would be afraid"
TUG: "I know who you are"
TUG: "I'm a better person than you" oof, no dude. no. never take that position.
TUG: "Don't make me angry. You wouldn't like me if I'm angry." 🔨😡
He's justified - all things being equal - but this is the internet and all is not equal. This is not a good look. EVS put him in a bad spot where his honor as a husband and father is at stake and piqued whatever latent neurosis TUG himself has. Flash tried to save him. TUG does not even come across as a tough guy and it doesn't seems to win TUG much. He comes across as somewhat unhinged himself. If The Band taught us anything, it's that if you're a crazy white southern guy always remain stoic and make a play for sympathy in court of public opinion (and make no mistake, that's what this is). It's a better look.

Hammer time. KF shout-out.
Spectree: "I will take TUG at his word that I told his wife to go kill herself"
TUG: "Internet crosses over into real life, bud" Hmm. I've heard reports of this but can't confirm and remain skeptical.
TUG: "There's nothing positive about interacting with you, Spectre"

Winding-down.
At this point the tension breaks and it degenerates into the typical faux-"debate" inquisition shitshow where one side confronts a delusional psycho with shit he's done/said (stolen valor, D&V, etc.) in an attempt to get some good ole' Tease The Retard going but since you can't really top threats of imminent bodily harm and since Spectre is just smart enough to squirm his way out of these traps set in calm non hammer-swinging scenarios, not much comes of it other than a confirmation that the guy is a loon and tedious to deal with.

Aftermath.
TUG then simmers down and attempts to revert to a measured, sing-songy gentle folksy demeanor that has no doubt earned him a 37% female audience but alas the damage is done. If there was a victory here for him, it was a Pyrrhic one. Attempting to punctuate the gavel-swinging imbroglio with "...and this is why I became a therapist" is quite the unintentional comedy.
TUG: "I wasn't mad or lost my temper..."
View attachment 3080695
He then sputters out a rambling mess as EVS and Flash, no doubt exhausted by this point themselves, just sorta let him realize on his own that he sounds nuts the more he doubles-down on "Why, yes. I would commit attempted murder over gay internet drama" as everyone else is ready to move-on.
TUG: "I'm a therapist. Let me help you."
Also TUG: "Psyke! Ranger choke hold, Fucker!"

BONUS CLIP: Line of the evening that compelled us to all yell "Please TUG, Don't Hurt 'Em":

Thanks Ike.

So to sum up, since I took a vacation the tard warz have shifted.

Testify is (allegedly) dead

Nassar is team JDA

Vikki and Dean have broken up. RIP

Spectre has apparently decided to go full bore lolcow in on CG.

Maybe it's better to view this as more a War of the Turds situation?

Can someone tldr; what interesting happened in last 3-4 weeks? I guess nothing?
@jspit2.0 basically has it. See his post directly above yours.

Actually, shit started moving much faster than normal around here after Liam flagged JDA's IGG campaign.

Thank you for this torrent of retardation you unleashed, Liam. You may be a delusional orange flaggot faggot, but it does my heart well to see you become an entertaining delusional orange flaggot faggot again.

:drink:

BREAKING:

Dean just did a livestream on his channel with Saggy Melonz where he confirms the break up with Vikki. He clarifies they were never in a relationship (that's been a persistent rumor), but they don't see eye-to-eye anymore and have decided to go their separate ways. Dean wishes Vikki the best of luck in her future endeavors, and hopes she continues Youtube.

He also adds that CG has been boring to him for quite some time, and he wants to move on from it. He'll be doing some content on Rei's channel in the near future.

EDIT:

He also seems a bit cross with Spectre too. He states that he did NOT ask Spectre to delete his posts in the Poulter lawsuit thread. Which is a claim Spectre made on the efap stream with @FROG.

Interesting video @Captain Manning did you know that TUG let saudi princes and Japanese businessmen evacuate their bowels onto his underaged daughter. DONT DENY THAT THIS HAPPENED

Yes, this guy hasn't been interesting in two years but we must talk about him now fellow Redditors.

By the way could certain users of this thread stop astroturfing (definition: making posts I don't like) about Martina and Preston!

Anybody fluent in crazy want to translate this one for me

And Ya Boi Zack decided to make a comic about it. Looks cringe.
Not only does it look cringe, it looks like it's on pace to be his worst performing comic campaign yet.

As of right now, he's about $1100 shy of his funding goal with 15 hours left. I've said before that YBZ has a retarded but loyal fanbase and they'll either barely get him over the line at the last minute or some CG bigwig will have a shill stream for him later tonight and he'll end up making another $10-20k from a late night Zack-a-Thon, presumably featuring a montage of Zack's bad haircuts and child support judgements set to the tune of that sad Sarah McLachlan song they use on the homeless puppy commercials.

So I won't predict outright failure, but even the punters are starting to worry.

i think 10k is rather generous. At the very least I think he’ll pull another 5k if someone shills for him.

Sure, that's entirely possible. I was mainly going on my recollection of what happened with 499. It looked pretty dismal until a couple weeks before closing when it got a huge upsurge after the horrible coloring job was being discussed on CG streams, along with some vigorous debate about whether Narwhal's art was "good" or not.

Granted, this book doesn't have any of that going for it. It's black and white and even though it looks like Kelsey shit the art out in record time (because he did), it still looks better than anything Narwhal has done. So there's no real issue about the book itself. In fact, I can see nobody wanting to really talk about it just because it's politics adjacent and it just doesn't seem like a fun book you'd want to pay $15 for and read over and over.

My guess is that they shill on flashcast tonight.

I thought he changed the colors after it was Indemand or was it during his 2nd 30 days? I remember it was pretty late in the campaign.

Not sure exactly when it happened but it wasn't received very well. I recall there were quite a few requests for refunds from backers who felt they were bait and switched since the preview images clearly showed the book was colored in a more realistic way, like what was ultimately used for the cover:

When Zack changed the picture on the campaign page to this:

He had to make a whole ass video explaining his rationale for changing the colors, which boiled down to "A much better comic used this color scheme and I will shamelessly ape it while completely fucking up the execution". He made no apologies to backers who'd already paid for a different looking book, instead giving them the standard "trust me, you'll love it" line he spouts with all of his questionable ideas.

In any case, this sparked a lot of conversation on CG channels which ultimately served to promote 499, even if much of it was CG pros trying to be polite about an obviously terrible move on Zack's part or saying they'd reserve judgment until they'd read it. I honestly do not remember a single CGer or Comicstuber saying they thought the book looked good. It may have happened, but it certainly wasn't a prevailing opinion. I also don't remember any CG people telling us what they thought after it launched either. I guess those judgments will stay reserved.

It seems some mild controversy helped sell 499, and none of it applies to this new book.

Speaking of which, there seems to be a last minute uptick in backers for Mind Your Business as the Zackbots' unemployment checks have cleared and pushed The Simple One to just about $500 shy of his fixed goal. Congratulations to Zack and his backers on the success and rapid fulfillment of what is sure to be a classic story that will definitely still be relevant in 6 months.

For people still waiting on Jawbreakers, Knife-Hand, or Rock n Roll Ninja: FUCK YOU.

I wish there was a laughing My ass off tag that I could put on this post.

Amanda B did a review of it here. Im pretty sure this is also her that commented negatively about the color change, and the Simples Ones only response was to ask if she wanted a refund. Im pretty sure its her because she talks about it in her review.

I dont know much about Amanda B, but she seems to support a lot of CG campaigns and auctions, especially the lower middle class to poverty level campaigns. She also seems like one of the very few genuinely nice people in CG. She gave 499 an overall C, but it looks like she did overall campaign grade rather than just only reviewing the book. Even so, I still think she was way to nice to him.

One more grift comic for Zack is like one more pie before bedtime for Sciverfrog. Lol, you'll see Frog's avatar change at least 20 more times until Rekt Planet arrives. By that time Zack will be cranking out stick figure comic strips for the digital war bond drive extra low price of $100 a pop. At least by that time my calculations indicate Cecil will have joined forces with Comic Book Hutt in CG exile.

Should I do it?
The selfish answer is to just say no, if he can't bring himself to even ask to go on a livestream to promote his book why should you care enough to give him air time? Honestly it seems like he doesn't even want to do comics, he just wants to do his bad boomer youtube video takes on some twitter nonsense.
